Got to second this.

Sonic's characterization is different from the games, but it's done in a way that provides him depth - he's not the Sonic from Unleashed, Colors, Lost World, Generations, or Forces with minimal depth. Heck he's got a character arc.

Well, the owl killed them too, so technically they're even.

Actually, do we even know what happened to Longclaw and the Echidnas? Like they could just be prisoners of the Deadly Six or THE END.

Yeah, the movies were pretty vague about what really happened to Longclaw.

It's strongly implied that she's dead, but not technically shown onscreen so they could unkill her if they wanted to.

I don't see why they would, though.

I just assumed it was a Mutual Kill

Sonic said she's like his Obi-Wan Kenobi. So obviously, she's a Force ghost. That wasn't a hologram in the second movie, that was her.

And it will turn out that Eggman is Sonic's long lost biodad...

I am worried about them taking Sonic X as a basis. Not out of dislike towards Sonic X (far from it), but dislike towards the English dub script. I am too fond of the original game script.

I'll be completely honest: I actually have complete faith that the film makers are gonna make this stuff work. For those who like Sonic X, irrespective of if they're talking about the English Dub or original Japanese audio, this is not directed at you guys, and you're all fine by me... but for me, these films kinda scratch the itch I've had, from the times I've watched Sonic X... the itch that before these films, Sonic F fulfilled, believe it or not.

…Apparently, they are STILL filming.

So, when do you guys think that the first trailer for Sonic 3 will come out? I'm predicting the first trailer will probably come out in August, since the trailer for the second movie came out 3 months apart from its release date (the trailer for the second movie showed up in December 2021 and the movie premiered in theaters in April 2022).

I think part of it will depend on when filming finally ends and how much special effects work is getting done in the meantime.

I do hope that the special effects in the third movie will turn out well.

A reminder that reshoots or late shoots are a regular thing, and not necessarily indicative of film quality, but just the realities of filmmaking. For example, during the editing process, they might realize "We're lacking a suitable transition between these two scenes, and the switch is too jarring, so we should film something to add there" or "Not really happy with any of the angles and shots of this scene we got, so we need to try again."

Now, its true in a movie with CG characters, there are gonna be limits on what additional shooting they can do. But it still happens.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the reshoots thing. I wonder what scenes they are reshooting?

Oh, it’s additional shooting… I thought it was the same stretch of shooting they were doing earlier.

To be clear, I'm not sure that's the case. I'm just saying late shooting isn't really odd.
