Naked is a 2017 Netflix film staring Marlon Wayans.
Substitute teacher Ron (Wayans) is about to marry the love of his life, Megan. On the day of his wedding, though, he wakes up naked in a hotel elevator far from the church with no idea how he got there. After an attempt to make it to his big day gets him arrested for streaking, he soon discovers he's also in a time loop.
Believe God has intervened to make sure he makes it, Ron resolves to find clothes and make it to his wedding, which will hopefully break the loop.
This film contains the following tropes:
- Dating What Daddy Hates: Megan's father Reginald doesn't approve of Ron and wishes she would get back together with her ex, Cody. Ron earns his respect when he reveals Cody was planning to take over Reginald's company.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Megan's maid of honor Vicky is revealed to be the one who set Callie up with Ron and left him in the elevator naked. When asked why, Vicky reveals she had spent a date with Ron years ago and was jealous he chose Megan instead of her.
- "Groundhog Day" Loop: The loop opens when Ron wakes up in the elevator, then loops back to the start once an hour has passed. This is signaled by Ron hearing church bells.
- Heroic BSoD: Learning he might've cheated on Megan breaks Ron and he tries not to escape the loop anymore. The powers at be however keep him there to his distraught.
- Mistaken for Cheating: Very intersting variation. Ron learns he was seen with a prostitute named Callie last night and thinks he might've slept with her. She later clarifies she only helped him write his vows and left his suit with her.
