I wouldn't be surprised if the other Crystal Gems show up later on. As for who I want, I'd love to see Chowder or a random-as-fuck obscure Warner Bros movie character.

First a Nick fighter and now what is cohesively a Cartoon Network/Game of Thrones fighter.

Peridot could be fun if they make use of her building whatever for combat like in the Light games, Amethyst has both her whip and potential to use shapeshifting in her moveset. While not a Crystal Gem, Spinel would be fantastic.

X5: There haven't been any updates in that matter. Which makes sense, considering AT&T (who considered exploring the option of selling RT the first place), ended up spinning off WarnerMedia as a whole to Discovery Communications.

Considering Rooster Teeth is still considered Warner-owned, as of September, it's safe to say they're fine.

I don't think RWBY is that popular in japan anymore IIRC, and just on a general level, anyone from RWBY just pales in comparison to the likes of Batman, Bugs Bunny, Shaggy, Jake the Dog, Arya Stark, etc in terms of being iconic characters WB would care about. It isn't even close.

I’m sort of surprised Iron Giant wasn’t one of the characters revealed yet. (I’m aware that putting him into a fighting game misses the point of the movie, but I don’t see that stopping Warner Brothers.)

I think it would be neat to see him as a background character. The Themyscira stage has some ACME dynamite in the background, so it's possible some stages might have some crossover elements.

Or maybe....he is too big?

I know i know, that joke is dead in the water but i struggle to see him, King Kong or Godzilla ever being playable without looking super silly.

Then again, they made Shaggy based on a meme. Who knows? Maybe Godzilla accidentally eats a crystal that shrinks him down to human size.

x5 RWBY is still a fairly popular show that would be fun to see alongside all these characters, even if it isn't popular in Japan anymore (which isn't strictly true anyway, there are still fans over there). Besides, they've already crossed over with BlazBlue and Persona in one game, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Stranger Things, and Transformers in another.

Ruby herself is my single most wanted character at the moment, at the very least.

I was never into Game of Thrones back when it was still the big craze (even though I was familiar with what happened, including the last seasons) but I still went "Wait...WTF?!" at Arya's inclusion because of how...not kid-friendly GOT is compared to the other series here. Never mind that they chose Arya of all characters too (assuming no other GOT characters make it in of course) but I ain't complaining, she was my fav anyway. Also cool that they actually got Maisie Williams herself to reprise her role.

Well, Rick was in the initial roster leak, so I personally wasn't surprised to see Arya in this.

Come to think of it, another leak hinted at Mad Max and Sub-Zero, and WB in general is pretty cool about Demographic-Dissonant Crossovers, as shown with Ready Player One, Space Jam 2, and even stuff like Harvey Birdman using existing HB characters.

By the way, the game is officially rated T for Language and Fantasy Violence. This technically doesn't discount more adult franchises from coming in, as they can just be toned down a little.

Furthermore, Rooster Teeth and RWBY's Twitter pages have both replied underneath the original Multiversus post with interest. It could just be light Brand Account bantering, but I thought it was worth nothing.

Also, one of my Discord mates brought up a hilarious mode: Multi-Man Smash, but it's with Agent Smith.

I do expect Neo to show up at least, if for no other reason than to cross-promote Matrix 4.

Hm, don't really like how they're promoting this. The "leaks" were already annoying, but the trailer feels targeted more to investors than players, and the website really just adds character backstories. I want to know how the game plays, damn it!

Other thoughts:

• Emphasis on 2v2... Probably going to turn away the FGC, but that doesn't mean it can't find an audience elsewhere
  • The other modes might be less than balanced, since support characters are definitely a thing
• Only two special moves per character, and it looks like most get a recovery. No sign of supers, either. I'm guessing they're going to be pumping out characters by coming up with an interesting move and building everything else around that?

Yeah I need more gameplay info. It kind of looks… slow? And a tad janky.

The "team mechanics" were interesting but I don't really see how that's going to work with such a small map.

I'll be happy if this ends up being a fairly casual who's-who of characters you didn't realize were under the WB umbrella. I'm fine with the little bit of gameplay they've shown thus far and I want to know when the Warner Bros are gonna be announced.

Either way, man, this game just took so much thunder from Nick's All-Stars.

Outside of Bugs' thing, none of the abilities seen in the video would be affected by stage size...
