Since we have a thread discussing the video game industry, I thought it would be appropriate to have a thread discussing the practices and going ons of the film and tv industries. Especially in light of recent news surrounding the sets of Batwoman and Rust.
This will not be about films and tv shows but rather about the practices and behind-the-scenes news affecting the industries.
Oh no, this isn't about a specific movie or anything like that. This is more of a general question about movies in general being controversial.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Yeah, no, that kind of thread would easily attract drama importation and negativity in general.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI see.
So, in regards to Open AI, what are the chances that AI will be used more often in future movies?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!AI stuff is better suited for the AI generated content thread.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI see.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Isn't petlz the guy with the daughter that wound up in roles in the Last Airbender and Transformers?
Yep. And people online are nervous about him being on the Disney board… at least the ones who aren’t far-right meatheads.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.CalPERS? California's public employee pension fund? Was not aware they did such things.
Whether they are or not, it's a lot of money wasted for some petty squabbling.

Wake me up at your own risk.Yeah, especially since like what others said, it's an act of an activist invenstor, and said type of investors aren't favored a lot.
You can't kill art.Peltz is getting votes is the point. And it’s good to keep an eye on this. But yeah hopefully this will break in favor of anyone who isn’t with Perlmutter.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I'm confused about how many documentaries have come out about Dan Schneider.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.CalPERS is a major investor, so that it can pay the retirement expenses.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Bumping with news on the Disney proxy battle: Variety is reporting that Disney has enough votes to defeat Peltz. At least as long as nobody changes their votes at the meeting.
Okay, it’s official. Peltz did not win the proxy fight. Source is Hollywood Reporter.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I wonder if Judi Dench ever fired her agent.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. The crew for Coyote v Acme posted a sizzle reel of their work on the film on Twitter and WBD took it down over copyright. Motherfuckers weren’t satisfied with writing the film off, they won’t let anyone in the crew show off their work on the film that WBD legally can no longer profit off of.
I'm starting to think Zlslav hates the looney tunes for some irrational and petty reason.
At this point it's safe to bet that Hollywood's bigwigs don't want their animation and VFX artists to have too much freedom or job security.
I don't get why WBD is not letting the crew put up footage for Coyote vs Acme. They clearly haven't shown any interest yet in trying to bring this movie to the big screen, despite the huge outcry from the audience to do so.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!What huge outcry? Social media complaining doesn't count. That's just Vocal Minority.
WBD did cave to social media outcry to release the "Snyder's Cut" for Justice League, and not nearly enough people actually watched it to justify the $50 million they spent.
As for why they don't want anyone releasing the footage, that's also simple. It's because they still own it. And they presumably still want to hold on to the option to release it themselves someday just in case.
Nah, WBD is still producing Looney Tunes content. Just not full feature length movies for the big screen.
And tbh, WBD has never really managed to pull that off with the sole exception of the original Space Jam. Back in Action and Space Jam a New Legacy were both flops.

Disgusted, but not surprisedHow do you know that? Reception to the Snyder cut was pretty positive and it was on top of HBO Max for a decent while. Streaming numbers are such a black box.
Oissu! There was a leak. Turns out Godzilla vs Kong did way better numbers streaming.
Not Three Laws compliant.
There isn't any thread for that. You want to discuss a specific movie or show's controversies, do it in the thread for said movie or show.
