Questions: Are the Chars (Player side) going to have powers/abilities/what have you? Now I'm assuming on the player side, low power levels. (near human, at best peak human ish??)
If there are powers, nothing strong (like can shrug off the horror stuff with ease strong). But maybe enough to extend their survival?
Species wise, I'm assuming humans/similar stats species wise.

I have no idea what to put here, oh well!Yeah, for the vast majority of these your characters won't have powers, or be anything nonhuman.
I'm not really gonna be doing stats or dice.
Are we submitting stories here, or just expressing interest?
Just expressing interest so far.
We'll start discussing and proposing stories in the Discord, once we have enough people here.
Yaknow what, I'm getting a lot of interesting thoughts about this premise so count me in.
It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.Same.
I have no idea what to put here, oh well!Alright, two people so far. I'm hyped for this heading into the spooky month.
Well count me in too.
I don’t want to hear anything. I don’t want to see anything, or speak anything…Interest!
Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?I am definitely interested in this.
Excellent, five people so far and on the first day of the Spooky Month!
Yeah just in time.
I don’t want to hear anything. I don’t want to see anything, or speak anything…I think I'll make the Discord pretty soon, and get things moving. Owing to the style of this sort of RP, I don't think I need to worry about ever closing the sign ups.
Here is our Discord community page.
Please make sure you join.
This is a project I've thought about doing for some time.
With October in a couple days, I've decided to go forward with it. This RP would be more accurately described as the players brainstorming various horror stories that are introduced by the horror host, followed by launching right into the stories. Rather than making characters for one overarching RP, this RP would be more about making characters for the individual horror stories presented.
Though if you'd like, you could reuse a character and give them a different role and part in the story. Just understand that the character mostly won't in all likelihood have memory of the previous stories they were a part of.
We'll all vote on which horror story to go with, each idea being presented by me, followed by constructing our characters for that story. As far as settings, there'll be period pieces such as in the 1950s, 80s and 90s nostalgia-fests, modern horrors amidst computers and cellphones, and even some futuristic scifi-horror going on.
The stories will be from many genres of horror, and as far as my own horror influences, I'm strongly influenced by people such as Clive Barker, Stephen King and David Cronenberg. Use that as a reference point for the kind of stuff you can expect to see here.
So it goes without saying that this won't be an RP for someone without the stomach for rather nightmarish circumstances. There will be violence, gore, body horror and visceral goings on. The characters will most likely have horrible things happen to them, so keep that in mind while making your characters - do not send in your darlings thinking things are gonna have a rose-tinted ending.
With all the warnings out of the way...
Three teenagers go into the seemingly empty home.
Tommy, the young and well-muscled jock leader responsible for the dare, jokes around with Tina - his girlfriend - and Jake - his best friend - about how scared they'd been to go inside.
But as they enter the living room, they hear the fireplace roar to life.
Seated in the chair at the center of the room is a young man, somewhere between 20 and 30, coiffed black hair and icy blue eyes, wearing a black shirt and jeans. He leans forward and with a wave of his hand, the door slams shut behind the teenagers.
"Welcome!" He gestures, "Come now, sit, sit..." Various chairs race out from their place propped up against the wall. "You're not going anywhere now, and I've been in need of fresh ears for these stories. Tell me, have you heard any good scary stories lately...?"
Tommy threatens the man, but he seems unbothered. Tina and Jake panic and try to go for the windows. Only for them to cease to exist as they reach their location.
"Now now, let's not be in a hurry," The man says with a grin, "After all, it's October 30th. The day before Halloween. With all you've seen, if I wanted you dead, you'd be very, very dead. So let's have ourselves some fun, eh? Eh? Who doesn't love a good scary story?"
Left with no options, the teens take their seats, glancing at one another, frightened already - but curious even still. Tonight will be a long night indeed.
