To-do list:
- Move wicks to either Optional Boss or Superboss. The former is the supertrope for optional bosses in general, while the latter is a subtrope for bosses that are harder than mandatory bosses, including the Final Boss. If an example is clear about a boss being optional but not how strong the boss is, Optional Boss should be the default trope to move examples to.
So, Bonus Boss is supposed to be an optional boss that is significantly harder than even the final boss, and is meant to provide an extra challenge to veterans. However, most wicks just use it as “any optional boss”. This is undoubtedly because of the name- the usual/proper name for “really-hard optional boss” is Super Boss.
So, after discussing it in Bonus Boss nuances
, we have decided to split the trope- Bonus Boss should be renamed to Super Boss, the redirect, while the misuse should be sent to Secret Boss and other such pages that we will create, which have been outlined in the wick check.

I cleared out the namespaces beginning with D (I'm saving VideoGame/ for last since it has over 1,000 wicks, and Characters/ for next to last because it's probably the second largest namespace), plus a wick that showed up in Main/, which I sent a "not a trope" notifier for.

Since the project I was previously working on (Just For Pun) was finished, I've done a bit of work on this, and this'll probably be my main project since it's not that hard (since wicks that don't fit Superboss probably fit Optional Boss instead). It helps that we now have prewritten edit reasons for cleaning up disambiguation pages and ZCEs, with the one for ZCEs being useful in the event that wicks have to be deleted outright due to a lack of context.

This ended up being my main project as I predicted last week, and there are 556 wicks left, mostly in the VideoGame/ namespace, with the only other namespace with wicks to clean up being the Characters/ namespace (wicks in namespaces other than those two should be ones that can stay), which should be done soon.
We've come a long way considering this thread is two years old (I wasn't even a mod when it was made).
Edit: Unhooked the crowner and shortened the thread's title to remove the reference to it, since the crowner was from late 2022 and closed with no action being taken, so we don't need it anymore. I figured doing this would reduce clutter.

184 wicks left, a handful of which are staying, so we've come a long way since this thread was made in September 2021 (which was before I was even a mod), and the page being turned into a Green Link might have helped deter the addition of new wicks for the old name, since one issue back when cleanup was stalled with a four-digit wick count was that more wicks were being added.

I think the most we can do with examples that don't fit is sandbox them and ask about them on Trope Finder, and if we don't already have something that covers them, Yard them or send them to TLP.
