They should be under whichever category the specific installment properly belongs under.
Well, not to be rude, but I meant the Fate Series as a whole. Tho, that'll work for individual entries (i.e putting Fate/Grand Order under the video game folder).
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I think that Cutegirl was asking that if you want to make a tree for the Fate Series as a whole for a trope that applies to the franchise as a whole which one you would put it in. I think that it is for where it originates from whenever I am putting tropes from Injustice I always put it in Video Games.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesKinda surprised we don't have folders for whole franchises to go into if the trope, well, fits the whole franchise in different ways. Now it's just split all over the page.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSome tropes do that but I don't think they are allowed as The Dictatorship launched with a folder like that but someone removed it.

CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesYeah, there should be a folder for franchises if the trope fits them as a whole since that would solve the confusion. Anyway, I'm now thinking of putting a visual novel folder on Historical Domain Superperson and put the franchise there since it originated from a visual novel but I'm still not entirely sure.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."So as someone who's somewhat involved in this Historical Domain Superperson thing (I was the one who expanded the example to include multiple works), I'll put my two cents in. Personally, of the folders that already exist on the page, I think the examples belong under the Video Game folder, the series started with a VN, and VNs are a type of video game. However, Visual Novels also sometimes get their own folders as well, so if we created a Visual Novel folder and placed it there, I think that would work too.
Also, should someone ask Wolf Thunder (the troper who put the Fate series in an Other folder) to join this thread to ask them what they think should be done?
The problem is I don't think these Franchise/Multimedia media categories are allowed because I keep seeing them getting removed.
CM Sandboxes, MB Sandboxes^ "Franchise" and "Multi-Media" folders are indeed not allowed.
Well, if franchise folders aren't allowed, then I guess we can place the franchise in the folder of the medium it originated in if the trope fits it franchise-wise. In other words, the Fate Series is probably going to go to the visual novel folder.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Yeah, that is what I do like for the already mentioned Injustice.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesSo it's agreed that a Visual Novel folder should be created and that the Fate series should be placed in it?
I’d put them in separate medium folders but grouped under the franchise if necessary. So when discussing a superhero trope that shows up in 2 MCU movies and 2 MCU TV shows, they would both be listed under MCU but in Film and Live-Action TV.
So something like this
Films — Live-Action
Live-Action TV

CM Sandboxes, MB Sandboxes& : While I like the suggestion, I think it'll be safer to put them in the visual novel folder since the example on Historical Domain Superperson explains that historical figures get summoned as servants and have supernatural abilities as a result. I'm trying to make sure the examples fit the clear and precise part of Clear Concise Witty. So, unless a few object, I'll go put it under the visual novel folder.
I hope I'm making sense here.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Welp if Multimedia folders are banned I will have to inform the Complete Monster thread. So yeah put them in a Visual Novels folder.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesUPDATE: Just added the Fate Series under the visual novel folder on Historical Domain Superperson. So, thread closed(?)

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."This thread can probably be closed but I am wondering if a wiki talk thread about these multimedia cases might be needed.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesThat sounds like a good idea. Would help out with the confusion if the hypothetical thread gets multi-media folders 100% allowed. Plus for some extra context, you could link this thread.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."just created it. Thread can be closed or locked now, move the future discussion there.

So, for a while I noticed that the Fate Series isn't consistent with what medium folder is in when an example from that series is used on a trope page. Sometimes, I see it under the visual novel folder (since the entry that kicked off the series, Fate/stay night, is a visual novel) and other times, I see it under the video game folder (since a visual novel is technically a type of video game and some of the more well-known entries, i.e Fate/EXTRA and Fate/Grand Order, are video games as well), and recently on the Historical Domain Superperson page, under a "Other" folder.
I think the troper that moved the Fate Series example to other (that medium folder didn't exist until recently) was probably confused about it. I considered moving it back to the video game folder, but I remembered the inconsistencies and I decided to start this thread to see what folder I should put it in.
So TL;DR: Should I put Fate Series examples under the Video Game folder, Visual Novel folder, or something else?
