I'm fairly certain the old pic is a piece of fanart, but I'm having a devil of a time finding a source. I don't mind the current pic but am open to ideas.

The new one gets my vote for being up to date, but I’m open to other, more thorough updates.

Current looks lazily put together and we don't strictly need images for character page hubs. I'd pull and call it a day if the previous picture is indeed fanart.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?If the old image isn't fanart, keep it. Else,
I'd like to apologize for all this.If old isn't fanart, keep. Else, new.
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCOriginal appears to be a wall poster.
Why so serious? One thing to note is that the poster only covers the Original and Prequel Trilogy.
Thus it would be in our best interest to find a poster that also features the Sequel Trilogy and/or The Mandalorian series to show less bias.
I also prefer the original, it's more cohesive than current and has more characters, even if they are limited to the original and prequel trilogies. I did find this image, which still doesn't have The Mandalorian, but it does have all three trilogies.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsNice find.
Better.
Also, we can't use the old image if it's for sale, so that's a no-go.
I'd like to apologize for all this.x3 Do we have a source for that one?

I see excluding the ST as a win tbh.
I'd say just leave the page imageless.
Star Wars has so many characters that finding a single image to cover them all is borderline impossible. I can barely make out any faces in and it still doesn't cover all the major works in the franchise. The problem of not covering all the characters will only get worse as new installments are made.
9 if we really can't use the old image. I don't think it's that big a deal that it's for sale; movie posters are sold too, but we still use them on movie pages. The old image is by Tsuneo Sanda; see here.
I think it's an official poster, as Tsuneo Sanda has illustrated covers for official Star Wars comics.

Keet cleanupMovie posters exist specifically to advertise and probably have looser restrictions to their use — them being products is incidental. Artists and companies selling their shit for profit don't appreciate people using it without being paid.
Basically we don't want any legal trouble we can avoid.
Speaking of, the website you linked has this notice:
If I'm reading the legalese right then it's a no-go even outside of probably(?) being fanart.

That would look great on Franchise.Star Wars.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Clock is set.
As someone who's new and still doesn't really understand what he's doing here, what's mean?
Edit: nvm, just got a PM explaining it.

The crowner will be with us...for at least a few days.
FYI, Characters.Star Wars Legends has an image that only shows nine characters.
Keet cleanupVotes bump; two in the green, one in consensus range.
Calling for 16.
A crop of 16 is in and tagged. Not reposting the old pic since it's in the OP.

I noticed that the main image for the Star Wars character page:
Was changed for this:
I didn't see any thread on the forum about changing it, so... Yeah. Never done this before, so not sure if I missed something, but I'm relatively confident that I didn't.
Personally, I much prefer the original. Looks more stylish.
