i think it varies depending on the circumstance, like if it's "the hero from a Bad Future" (likely significantly different) versus "the hero from a Close-Enough Timeline" (obviously more similar). the differences should probably be prioritized regardless. duplicates would be most beneficial to list if they have make significant difference in how the alternate universe character looks or acts, i.e. if their main version is already a Determinator but the bad future version is significantly moreso due to the negative aspects of their world. that's my perspective, anyway
Turning this round -
As a rule, I'm assuming tropes from Bad Future stories shouldn't be listed for the main version of the character?
I can see exceptions when a story reveals that someone is actually The Ageless or Long-Lived, or confirms the nature of the destiny/powers/etc. that the present version has teased but not yet manifested...
But as a rule, what happens in Bad Future stays in Bad Future character sheets?
Fair?

A character being from an AU and pointing at another character sheet is enough if there are no other differences.

Here's a question that I've been thinking about: When Alternate Universe versions of the same characters are troped on character sheets, should the alternate selves' profiles contain any tropes that they share with their counterparts from the "main" universe, or would that be redundant?
