"A curious example..." on trope pages... should it even be used?

I've seen this on trope pages, or on examples for things like Frozen in Time in Literature.Dracula Asylum.

In general, though is this one phrase that shouldn't be used on a trope page unless it explains how?

I've not seen it used that much, but wonder when something really should count as such before it's used for a trope or on a work page.
