Per a mod on ATT, I have to get consensus on whether this entry on BOTW/TOTK fits or not:

  • The air bike is a simple build of two fans pointed downward at a 45 degree angle attached to a steering stick. It's quick, easy to control, can be used infinitely unlike Wings and Balloons, and once you have autobuild, you can construct an air bike anywhere for only 9 pieces of Zonaite. Given how one of the game's main challenges revolves around navigating the environment, the air bike utterly trivializes this. No location is out of reach with this vehicle.

Thoughts? I personally think that, while it's certainly useful, isn't exactly the kind that makes the game super easy to the point of being divisive.

Mmm...IMO it does clip out an entire game mechanic - given the wings and balloons breaking after a period of use is meant to limit your flight options and range, having a hoverbike whose components can't break with use extends that limit in proportion to how much battery level/Zonai Charges you have. In that sense, the hoverbike does seem like a softcore Game-Breaker.

One of the game's main challenges is trying to navigate the environment, and the air bike makes that ridiculously easy. Why climb anywhere when you can ride the air bike? Why do any puzzles to reach your destination when you can just use the air bike to fly past them? No problem avoiding troublesome enemies when you can just fly by them. Transporting something becomes easy, too. The air bike is so useful that I deliberately chose not to use it so the game wouldn't feel too easy.

The air bike entry was removed because "Entries are either exaggerating basic mechanics or otherwise fail to explain how they break the game to the point of being divisive." How exactly did the air bike entry fail to meet that?
