Too much adorableness

On Elira: going by Socialblade, before this it takes like 7-8 days for her sub count to drop 1k. Meanwhile, she drops 1k more on the day after the stream...where the stream happens on the day after she already dropped 1k more. She just lost 1k more just 2 days later rather than 7-8 days normally. Yeah, disillusionment is real.

She now loses 51k from her 606k peak, down to 555k, so yeah, going to be quite a bit of a struggle to build that back.

I think that question can be parsed two different ways depending on whether the operative word is 'suddenly' or 'proof': if 'suddenly' is the operative part, yeah no clue. If 'proof' is the part, it's the black screen stream. Even for a lot of more moderate voices in the conversation, that was probably crossing a very big, very red, very 'do not cross' line.

...Why are people acting like we suddenly have proof of Elira being a terrible person?

...This was somewhat rhetorical, since I know that the answer is that Elira is suddenly relevant again, and that's causing people with strong opinions about her to be active. Did kinda wonder if something new popped up, but just wasn't seeing it

Also, the black stream was absolutely not proof of anything regarding the people in it. There's no way in hell that it would have happened without at least an okay from management, and which in turn means that we have no idea how voluntary any of it was

People are also incensed that (they're saying, i didn't bother to watch) she spent the stream not once acknowledging the screaming elephant in the room, and afterwards she tweeted in the vein of "yaaaay everything is fun and awesome, I talk about silly things and nothing else!"

What did they expect, really, Nijisanji will bring the roof down on her if she so much as squeaks out the wrong syllabe

Well yeah, but the people involved could have probably just.. not done that. I doubt anyone was holding a gun to their heads.

I feel like a lot of the arguments in defense of the black stream participants basically boil down to Just Following Orders, which is pretty much never a good defense.

...Probably not a physical gun, but I don't know why you'd assume there wasn't a metaphorical one. I doubt management would have just called off their plans if no one volunteered for it

[up] X 9 Well, I can't 100% confirm this, but I do recall that Elira was transferred to Japan during the time of that infamous black screen stream. Running the risk of pissing off your employers and being unable to return home seems like an effective metaphorical gun to one's head.

People have legit reasons to think Elira just walked into a hostage situation.

Also, Elira’s chat was weird. Normal person couldnt comment unless they were weeks old subscriber, but the remaining messages most written the same variation of “we wuv you ewiwa” meanwhile you got a more diverse comment section was Doki’s. And when you see that Elira’s return has more views than the one Doki and Mint were running concurrently even though Elira was the lower view count when it was live, everyone can see something was up

[up] Time to clear my calendar!

[up][up][up] VOD views count towards the viewcount, so Elira's stream having more views even when Mint and Doki had higher CCVs just means more people checked out her stream afterwards, which makes sense, because let's face it, Mint's and Doki's streams were standard gaming streams, while Elira's was a comeback stream; it's only natural that people would be curious as to what she had to say and looked at it afterwards. What matters more is that an everyday stream for Doki and Mint vastly outperformed a literal comeback stream in CCVs.

Also, it's not surprising that she was basically being lovebombed in her chat, seeing as she set the chat to only anyone who'd been a subscriber for more than 13 weeks, which is a couple weeks before Selen's termination, making sure that anyone left that could chat is most likely a diehard fan.

[up] I had the misfortune of checking in and out the Eliracord when the return stream happened. If you thought the live chat on Elira's stream was cringe, then you didn't see the people in that discord screaming "Ahhhh, I spent everything for this return, notice me 'Wiwa".

Also, while I dug up some pre-fiasco news, I stumbled upon this January 19th article which reported news that HYTE would produce PC cases adorned with Elira, Enna and Rosemi; the former two of which are suspected to have veto'd HYTE's wish to collab with Selen with everything that has been revealed. The Nijisanji collab has been cancelled, so FamElira, Aloupeeps and Rosebuds will never get those PCs.

Man, screenshots of 9634's AR Live are coming out despite AnyColor's bizarre demand that no screenshots, clips, or vids of the live be taken, and whoo boy. Let's put it this way: Mio's fried chicken from the NY medley was way higher resolution than what's coming out of the AR Live. No wonder they demanded that nothing from the AR Live be shown to the public, and very early on said no refunds.

I heard that the bilibili stream of it was silent because they couldn't secure the copyrights. I guess they were right to prohibit any screenshots or recordings, because from the leaked images, the lighting choice sucks.

For such a big event, the CCV numbers Niji stans were so proud of are disappointing, only peaking at 24k. It got gibbed by the SNOT collab (30k for Gura's POV, 12k for Fauna's).

And the free segment got immediately privated after streaming. This is such a far cry from holoFes accessbility-wise.

If anyone paid for this, I hope they've made peace with the fact that they got scammed.

It was ultimately better to watch and support other concurring events like the SNOT collab, CDawgVA's cyclethon and Sayu's WWF funraiser.
