The big theory I have seen around the internet is that Agent Spider is still Spiderman. Or more accurately, this is a variant of Spiderman like the many seen in the spiderverse films. Hence him saying he has dealt with the multiverse, 'especially lately'. Which seems to be a nod to those films.
The First manI mean, he's not. He's a Lawyer-Friendly Cameo.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Batman was a Lawyer-Friendly Cameo because it's implied to be actually batman but not enough is seen to make an issue with it.
While Agent Spider is a Captain Ersatz if Spider-Man.
I would find it hilarious if there was a spider-variant patterned after Agent Spider in Beyond the Spiderverse though.
As to Invincbile... two more years until S3?
Man, Nolan is in a really bad place right now. He has two conflicting ideologies in his head and basically the only thing they agree on is "You're a treacherous bastard and deserve to die".
Ahaha Kate is still alive, we are definitely getting Multi-Paul next season. Probably for the first episode, would make for a hilarious and perfect cool-down opener.
Also Mark my guy, come on. You live on a world with an immortal man named just Immortal, Monster Girl, Martian Man, and Green Ghost. You're setting is not exactly creative with its naming conventions.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."RE: Agent Spider:
Frankly, I was a bit grumpy because we explicitly saw Marvel Team-Up #14 on Mark's phone in that teaser, and I thought Kirkman was messing with us when he said Spider-Man wouldn't show up because he kinda trolls about this stuff…and it turned out he wasn't bluffing.
But. I guess it was kinda inevitable? Disney and Sony probably have legal teams that made Kirkman (or Amazon?) sweat bullets so they opted for a lawyer-friendly variant of Spider-Man.
Point is I'm mostly over it. I'm just glad to hear Josh Keaton as a Spider-Variant again. Besides, it seems fan animators decided Disney and Sony's legal teams can kiss those animator's asses because I've already seen at least one fan animation that swaps Agent Spider with Spider-You-Know-Who. (And also some guys are trying to mod Agent Spider as a costume in the Insomniac game. So that's actually really cool.)
I think people are blowing it out of proportion. Kirkman doesn't own Spider-Man, so he can't use Spider-Man.
Simple as that.
We might not get the Spawn, Witchblade or Savage Dragon cameos either. It's not a big deal, especially since Spider-Man showing up for a cameo isn't important for the story.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Sheesh, some fans are really making a mountain out of a molehill over this, aren’t they…?
I think people are more bothered by how much the season was all "Ooo, we're hyping up this imminent crossover" and then getting a legally distinct version.

Yeah that's just a bad look.
Find the Light in the Dark×2
Who? The show runnerss? If so they really shouldn't have gotten fans hopes up.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"The abuse thrown at Oliver this episode was extremely hard to watch, I almost switched off the TV in horror. It amazing what this cartoon can do with it's violence.
God, yeah, they did a really good job making the entire sequence with Angstrom holding Debbie and Oliver hostage nerve-wracking and cringe-inducing.
I think I miss my wife is gonna be the big meme of the season, isn’t it?

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Nolan's life has become the "Ride Wife, Life Good'' meme.
But without the beating up the wife part. Thank god for that.
Though honestly, he deserves it. Looking forward to Debbie kicking him to the curb and living happily.
It's a big change, but I think the story could still basically follow the comic without them getting back together.
One Strip! One Strip!I find it interesting that the half-season and full season finales both play with the idea of Mark being Willfully Weak. Against the Viltrumites he was holding back too much and unable to really let himself cut loose. Against Levy, he doesn't hold back enough when it becomes clearly Levy has superstrength and toughness, but not all superstrength and toughness is equal so Mark overestimates Levy and ends up killing him accidentally. Or least that's what he tells himself.
I was right that Dupli-kate had a back up dupli-kate in hiding! I'm amazed however that Cecil seemingly had no knowledge of it.
I'm really curious if Nolan will try to abandon his face turn when it becomes abundantly clear that he won't be able to rekindle things with his wife.
What was with that cut away to the Egyptian tomb?
The Egyptian tomb thing was a gag in the first season as well. Where a guy gets possessed, and just as he's about to escape the tomb Nolan and Mark fly by and inadvertantly bury the place again.
I wonder if that's just going to be a running gag or if it's actually gonna go somewhere.

Kaze ni Nare! That's a pretty awful Running Gag.
Like, those people are going to die in there.
One Strip! One Strip!I think it's the show's version of the "sky god" running joke in the comic where some weird plotline is progressing in the background and we only get periodic snippets of it.
I bet the running gag will be replaced with the Battle Beast vs Thragg battle happening while the story moves forward
Uni catSome thoughts I've been thinking from a design perspective, I think at times the hero suits look a little samey or at least overtly reliant on bodysuits with simple geometric patterns, but I realize thats partly cause the designs are managed by 1/2 primary artists so there is a more consistent design aesthetic with the heroes here and my mind keeps wandering to Marvel/DC heroes to compare. Jupiter's Legacy has a similar thing with its hero suits, lotta bodysuits and lotta capes.
But with Marvel/DC those are collective works so designs are by a multitude of artists that add their own unique touches. Such as how the X-Men like adding jackets on-top of their hero suits like Rogue and Morph do. Or more complex patterns and insignia like say Spider-Man's web-design and his spider-symbol compared to Invincible designs making use of a lot of letter symbols.
And that is intentional. Invincible is going for a very superhero classic aesthetic, simple designs and mundane names to function as a Silver-Age throwback so the deliberately bright visuals clash with the incredibly brutal and dark story.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Yeah, Sony has the rights for Spider-Man in any animated project over 40 minutes long, so unfortunately an appearance in Invincible would have to involve them and Disney, and apparently they didn't think it would be worth all the hassle, which I totally understand.
