It will be interesting to see if the second season can match or top this one in terms of viewers. After all, I think Lightning Thief is the Percy Jackson story most people are gonna remember.

I would argue that Titans Curse is also up there. It did introduce Nico and he is arguably the most popular character in the franchise beyond the original three.

The Adaptation Deviation character tropes are meant for significant changes, not minor ones made for adaptational story flow. As I said when I deleted it the first time, Annabeth's book counterpart is a genius, so her displaying deduction skills in this version of the story isn't necessarily making her significantly smarter.

I mean, with the ratings it was getting, it was hard to see it not getting another season. But I am glad we don’t have to wait around for months on end to hear anything like we did with a lot of shows during the strike.

Was this show realy worth the watch? Because I saw people have mixed reactions to this show. Also, I have a sibling who is a fan of Percy Jackson novels and did not like the movie adaptations.

Definitely worth the watch, but I hope season 2 gets more episodes. The narrative really needed more time to breathe; I'll happily take shittier VFX if it means more budget for the actual story.
I thought it was pretty well done. I was worried about some of the story beats but I do enjoy just how often Percy calls into question the morality of the gods, as well as some bits where they went off script made things way more intense. I was on the edge of my seat during the final episode, and im surprised more people here arent talking about it.
About time they renewed it. I think a lot of the issues the show had were partially because Rick Riordan wrote a few of the episodes from what I understand.
They definitely need to turn down the exposition and focus on the visual aspects of the storytelling. I had no issue with the actors as they improved and will continue to improve as the show goes on.
With any luck we could get season 2 by spring or summer 2025.

Went to watch the scene where Percy talks to Zeus and made the mistake of looking for others reactions, only to be met by people mostly being upset Zeus is black.
Sigh...Does anyone know what the overall perception of season 1 was?

From what I have seen, good but not without issues. With the cast being seen as great but it being rushed. Most people (beyond a small minority) loved Lance as Zues especially.

So apparently, Netflix has let the rights to Kane Chronicles lapse and their movie trilogy isn't happening anymore. Wonder if Disney will pick it up after the success of PJO?

On the bright side, if Disney gets it then that makes an adaption of the crossover more likely.
I really really liked the finale. Lance Reddick as Zeus was great, its unfortunate he's no longer with us but he delivered as he always does.
The Ares fight was cool. Water powers are underrated imo so I get excited whenever a character uses them like Percy did.
These kids acting have improved considerably. Walker Scobell is pretty good at showing emotions through facial expressions, as well as Lukes actor. Everyone will get better as time goes on I'm sure.
Renew the show for a 2nd season already Disney Plus! I see very little reason not to at this point. I'll be eagerly awaiting the news.
