Hello, after lots of searching i realize there is no post for this magnificent series. It's fourth season dawned upon us with it's long episodes and yet the talks about it are barren as a plundered field.

I have decided to take the first step towards a hopefully long and eventful thread!

I'm not Superman, not Batman, or Spiderman, or Aquaman, or a merman, or a wolfman. I'm not a brahman, or common, or a calman.

Thank you for making the thread. I'd love to talk about the series. It's one of my favourite things on TV right now. So I'm all caught up, including the fourth season (ended binge-watching yesterday)... but that can be too fresh for others, so I'll try to be light on the spoilers.

I'm quite impressed with the series. I started watching because I actually tried to find something similar to Game of Thrones, which I liked mostly for the politics and historical setting (though the fantasy elements were cool as well). I like The Last Kingdom simply because I like history, and almost any period appeals to me on some level, and dark medieval ages are especially cool. Early medieval times are not that common on film and TV I think. And I also happen to like almost anything England/Great Britain-related, so I got hooked pretty easily.

I'm particularly impressed with their female characters. They're so varied and fresh and real, and they don't fall into common stereotypes or so called 'strong female characters'.

One thing: Uhtred's thinking process or motivations are sometimes all over the place. His ability to always save himself and everyone else despite all odds, usually Big Damn Heroes-style, sometimes pushes my willingness to suspend disbelief... and his Cartright Curse is getting old, too. Other than that, I really really like it.

Can't wait for more seasons.
