Seems to be much more horror-focused, so it could be good.
That is what I am hoping, but the trailer does see some more comedic things do creep in towards the end such as the "I'm undead not unreasonable" line.
Is there a particular Dracula film or series that anyone might recommend?
I spent a good amount of time reading that book and I'd like to see it represented on screen without Dracula being a superhero.
Seeing this and hearing that line "I'm undead, not unreasonable" made me realize how much I yearn for the original story in live-action format.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Wait, isn't a BBC Dracula just Blacula?
... I had to. I'm not going to apologize.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Watched the first episode on the BBC and it was a lot better than I thought it would be. The mix of horror and comedy was about right, the count himself was cool and gender-flipped Van Helsing was great.
So what's the name if it's not Abraham Van Helsing?
Sister Agatha van Helsing.
Oh, a nun? Interesting.
Episode 2 was another great one, set entirely on the Demeter. I do live the interactions between Dracula and Sister van Helsing and the ending twist was quite fun.
Sorry for the double post but that was a very interesting third and final episode.
The modern setting was a bit mixed with some good points (mostly with the humour) but somehow just didn't feel right in places. The reveal at the end that Dracula's weaknesses were totally psychological was interesting and I did actually like how the whole thing was essentially a love story between Dracula and the gender-flipped van Helsing. Not sure about Dracula committing suicide through cancerous blood though.
BBC & Netflix have produced a three part Dracular series, developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, that will be sown on BBC One on New Years Day 2020 and the following nights. Here is the trailer:
It looks like it could be good, but considering who is involved I am worried it could be a little too comedic.
