Oh god, are they doing Bunny Drop again?
I dont know about you but given the anime will be 12 episodes... Well, I dont know if they will get into THAT controversial stuff ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I'm not sure if they would want to end the season on it, at least.
that depends on wether or not they rush through the source material, like many LN adaptations do, unfortunately
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistI'm more amused by how the ones actually raising her are the bar people.
Secret SignatureOh god, are they doing Bunny Drop again?
Holy shit, those are exactly my thiughts, word by word.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. For what it's worth, I've skimmed the light novel - and while the event in question does happen, the context and the route to get there are very different than what transpires in Bunny Drop. I'd even go so far as to call the title deliberately misleading - the early relationship seems much less parent and child and much more Hero and Protectorate.
he's more like that cool family friend that drops by once or twice per year

Secret SignatureWhy does Japan so fond of incest and grooming young girl to be your wife? I could never understand that?
E.T technically is a Isekai movie@High Velocity Huh... That seems...Interesting
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."It's a fetish
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You can blame The Tale of Genji for that, unless it turns out Murasaki Shikibu was only pandering to already existing proclivities, in which case who knows.

It's not like the trope itself is unique to Japan - the trope page for Wife Husbandry has more than a few examples from Western media. Regardless, the direct application of that trope is pretty clearly not what's happening in this story.
In the light novel, Latina is eight at the start of the story, while Dale is eighteen. Trivially minor spoilers, but while devils may live longer, they don't grow up any slower than humans do.
It's not, but the most famous example of Wife Husbandry in western fiction is the story where the one who carries that out is considered a Villain Protagonist. You see a whole lot more positive portrayals of that in anime and manga. So it's not exactly completely comparable here.
Thankfully, though, Wife Husbandry is far less common compared to other annoying anime/manga tropes, like Little Sister Heroine (blurgh).
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Episode 2:
More cute moments with Latina which is diabetes inducing :3 and boy is she a fast learner. While she got lost at first, she does ended up making friends at the end of the day. Not only that, but seems that the bar patrons really like her.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Catching up on Episode 3:
In this episode, Dale came back to work with his noble friend as a monster slayer (Yeah, it's kind of an oomph because Latina herself is a demon but I think Dale only kills several evil demons so eh...). Anyways, Dale and his noble friend manage to defeat a demon general even if it's anti-climatic. However, Dale himself is kind of homesick if he doesn't get near in Latina. Speaking of that little devil... Yeah, more cute moments on her making pie and I agree with the female adult that she should go to school to make more friends haha...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 4:
Today is the first day Latina goes to school... Yay! Except that its not a pleasant day because of the green haired teacher. Literally fuck that racist teacher despite her excuse and glad that she got stripped from her position. Poor Latina who cuts her own horns because the demons are being prejudiced horribly. And wait, I didnt know Dale was a member of noble... That explains why his friend is a noble in previous episode... Okay
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 5:
Yay for Latina giving a present to Dale! But seems that she got targeted by a black market. Luckily, a drunkard named Jilvester manages to save the day.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 6:
Wow, 6 months has passed and the two couple who took care of the bar Latina was working now has a baby. And yeah, both Dale and Latina will go to an unknown journey
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 7:
Latina and Dale went into the seaport city which is sweet. And yeah, they meet with another demon who is pretty kind and she gave them several information regarding other demon and demon kings. It was revealed that some of the demon are having a hard time to conceive a child but will become happy if they manage to conceive one. And yeah, said demon used to have a husband a long time ago. Speaking of demons...Oh man, some of the demon kings are vicious as hell so yeah... Dale and Latina better watch out
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 8:
More revelations regarding Dale's family and needless to say, they're eccentric as hell. One of them is a half human and half beast and yeah, Dale has a strained relationship with his parents and family though they're mostly friendly.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 9:
Latina being Latina as always, she now befriends some wild animals and they are none other than fantastical beasts. Also, both she and Dale attends her brother's marriage which is nice.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 10:
Welp, time to go back home but not before parting ways with your family which is sweet. And interesting that there is a noble princess who has an immense magic power judging by her hair and eye color so yeah
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Yeeah, I've been watching this since it comes out at a time when there's barely anything watching and I need a time waster, but this gets really creepy when you know about the eventual evolution of the relationship. Though on a second thought I'm not sure that knowledge is even necessary to find this creepy.
The show names the relationship of the characters as father and daughter, but then doesn't really show the same in their actions. The guy doesn't parent the girl, just obsesses on how cute she is and how he wants to dress her up.
That's not parent and a child, it's just an older man obsessing over a little girl.
The only saving grace of the thing is that most of the time the show kind of feels it wants them in the same room as little as possible, mostly focusing on the girl and her own growing up.
Right, since I promised to make a thread for this. I'll be honest that I want to catch up to this anime and I've already watch it. Anyways, for those who don't know what's the premise of the anime, here's the summary courtesy of MAL:
"Dale is a cool, composed, and highly skilled adventurer who's made quite a name for himself despite his youth. One day on a job deep in the forest, he comes across a little devil girl who's almost wasted away. Unable to just leave her there to die, Dale takes her home and becomes her adoptive father.
Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent.
But why was she out in the forest to begin with, and why does she carry the mark of a criminal?"
So my opinion on this anime is a.k.a. the First Impression: This is probably going to be the most controversial anime because of it's elements that happened in Volume 6 but that depends if they will get there since the anime has 12 episodes as far as I recall. So far, I kind of enjoyed it with the chemistry between Dale and the Demon kid that he found, Lamia. Keep in mind that this anime? Is not an Isekai but yeah... Given that the anime fandom are getting flooded by Isekai... I think its understandable why people mistake the anime for it.
Anyways, feel free to post your thoughts on the anime because why not?
