Monsters of My Superhero Academy

  • Intergalactic Guardian Angels
  • Origin: Unclear - they appear to spawn from black holes from time to time, but can also be seen roaming the universe, typically keeping to themselves unless conditions are met. However, they are also immediately hostile to living things they encounter. Some say these space dwelling giants are involved in creation and destruction, attaching an (entirely unrewarded) reverence to them in accordance with their divine moniker.
  • Appearance: The Intergalactic Guardian Angel perhaps earned its name by token of its color scheme - bright gold and white. However, everything else to do with it is almost colorfully grotesque. It has a mannequin like head with eight oval shaped ruby red eyes. Its body is typically large, nonhumanoid, and shaped like a pair of hexagons conjoined by a cylinder. Every one of these creatures has eight feathery "wings" in addition to the two large blue wings made of energy sprouting from the back. These material feathery "wings" are a deception - they're actually extremely sharp, needle-lined tentacles, capable of bending and extending. Each Intergalactic Guardian Angel has three arms on each side, each one connected by helical cables that somewhat resemble intertwined DNA, leading to four pronged digit-grade claws. Instead of normal legs, they typically sprout long white tendrils if contact with the ground is necessary. Each Intergalactic Guardian Angel is Kaiju-sized.
  • Abilities: The Intergalactic Guardian Angel is a terrifyingly powerful and dangerous opponent - if a rather predictable one. They possess the power to create, shape and destroy - and can use this to lend power to mortals in strange telepathic agreements. In general the combat abilities of each I.G.A. is dependent on what type it is - the I.G.A. comes in five types; Preserver, Devastator, Adjudicator, Observer, and Inducer of Progress.
    • Each type has a different order of attacks it uses, with some switching out certain offensive options for a different one. Acting somewhat like machines, when combat is engaged, the Intergalactic Guardian Angel follows distinct patterns and continuous processes;
    • Attacking with its tenta-wings -> Eye Lasers -> Phoenixian Array (a deadly and white hot, bright Kill It with Fire proximity attack) -> L'Arc En Ciel (fires off a large beam into the sky that rains down in a massive number of smaller beams) -> Halo of Destruction (fires off a number of heinously sharp halos around itself in a pre-programmed radius and distance between each halo) -> Sword of Effulgent Flame (generating a huge flaming sword in its hand(s) and swinging it horizontally) -> attacking with its tenta-wings...
  • Weaknesses:
    • Poor Predictable Rock: Nothing can make an Intergalactic Guardian Angel give up on its attack routine. This also makes them VERY easily predictable. They could be likened to a simplistic video game boss.
    • Core: The energy-heavy core of the Intergalactic Guardian Angel is its weakpoint. Damaging the core can either shut the thing down or make it abandon combat protocols and flee to distant space.
    • Telling What It Does: Due to its nature, these creatures just cannot help but, when using attacks like L'Arc En Ciel, it says something like "Engage L'Arc En Ciel.exe".
  • ETC:
    • The ruby-like eye of an Intergalactic Guardian Angel is highly sought after, and is worth a lot of money and is highly potent in magical circles.
    • It is rumored that these creatures react badly to certain large scale magical / power related efforts.
    • Their name supposedly comes from being spotted flitting out amidst nebulas and certain areas in the solar system. They are however anything but protective.

  • Villain Name: Amalgamate
  • Age: 45
  • Appearance: Ehhhh, more or less like this, maybe more along the lines of blatant derangement.
  • Powers: Much like Mason, he gains his powers from the Elemental Planes but in a more gruesome way. He has four "Alpha Chips" that came from the first experimentation process of the Genesis-Driver, but rather than loading them into some kind of brace, belt or slot, he loads them into himself. However, due to his brand new genetic make up, he needs to use two at a time, to make sure his body isn't overwhelmed by elemental energy and burns him out. As such, he has 6 "forms" that his body is born from, based on the combination of chips.
    • Magma: By combining the Fire Alpha and Earth Alpha, he becomes a creature of pure Magma.
    • Smoke: By combining the Fire Alpha and Air alpha, he becomes a creature of smoke, harder to hit and capable of suffocating people.
    • Steam: By combining the Fire Alpha and Water Alpha, he becomes a creature of Steam, harder to hit and capable of burning people.
    • Swamp: By combining the Water Alpha and Earth Alpha, he becomes a creature of muck and swamp, capable of capturing people in his grasp.
    • Ice: By combining the Water Alpha and Air Alpha, he becomes a creature of ice, capable of freezing.
    • Sand: By combining the Earth Alpha and Air Alpha, he becomes a creature of sand, obscuring vision.
  • Weakness: As it would be, injecting yourself with Elemental Magic, he would burn himself out completely if he stays in one such form for too long, resulting in complete and utter erasure of himself and...well, he doesn't know the end result, but at most, his forms can last a grand total of 15 minutes before he needs to shut down and cool off. In addition, his forms can be easily bested by natural weaknesses, such as water, air, and what have you.
  • Personality: Quiet, sadistic and very temperamental, he's known for flying off the handle and hurting people doing so. He has a huge sense of self grandeur and thinks himself smarter than most, and will constantly lord it over you. He wants his name to go down in the history books, be it through his intelligence, or his infamy. Whatever comes first.
  • Backstory: Originally the assistant to one Rosa Bridges, the being now known as "Amalgamate" was petty on his best days and wicked on his worst. He wasn't about to let simple, silly things like "Human decency" get in the way of their glory. He pushed and pushed to use human experiments on the creation of the Genesis Driver, wanting to speed along the process so he could enjoy his fame at a nice, early age. But Rosa said she wouldn't do it, and they'd perfect it along the way. So, her assistant stole the driver and showed her just how safe it was, by using it on himself. Needless to say, it didn't end well. The resulting backlash of elemental power almost destroyed his body and instead turned him into something...else. So now, with a misguided hatred and need for vengeance, Amalgamate will make a name for himself, no matter what.

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?

  • Name: The Crawling Dark/The Creeping Shadow (Not its real name, which has been sealed away by the Printer Clan so nobody can say it and attract its attention. These names forcefully define it and confine it into a comprehensible form.)
  • Age: Unknown (Estimated to be thousands of years old)
  • Appearance: True to its name, it's a constantly shifting mass of shadowy creatures fused together that's almost as big as a skyscraper lying on its side. In reality, this is a being made of many powerful Dream Eaters fused into one greater intelligence so that they might better combat the servants of the Eternal Dream.
  • Personality: Varies. Many Dream Eaters with varying dispositions have been fused into it, and may take the "helm" at any time, but they are united by their mutual hatred for dreams, hope, and creativity.
  • Powers:
    • Dream Eater Leader: The Crawling Dark is able to summon its lesser kin and command them so they can aid it in battle. This is most commonly accomplished by sprouting them out of itself. Using a horde of minions is the only effective way it has of combating Inspiration wielders, slowly wearing them down over time and causing them to strain themselves while they feed off of their powers and hope.
    • Light/Hope Drain: The mere presence of the Crawling Dark causes the surrounding area to darken as though it were night and diffuse a soul-draining chill throughout the area. If it focuses, it can also drain the hope out of the surrounding area to fuel its minion creation. This creates apathy in the targets that are unable to fight it off.
    • Monster Physique: The Crawling Dark is immense and has the appropriate proportional strength. It can also sprout clawed tentacles from itself to lash out at its enemies and grow mouths with sharp teeth.
    • Mundane Immunity: The Crawling Dark is entirely immune to mundane and technological weapons, which pass through it as if it were intangible.
  • Weaknesses:
    • Inspiration/Faith: Inspiration is the first and foremost weakness of the Crawling Dark. Failing that, even a child pretending that their toy gun will hurt it can harm it. Arcane and other supernatural means of maiming also work on it.
  • Backstory: The Crawling Dark is a dangerous conglomerate of Dream Eaters (the cast-away remnants of unfulfilled dreams) sealed away by the collective efforts of the Eternal Dream a very, very long time ago. Unfortunately, it was unsealed and summoned by a foolish magus family which wanted revenge on the Printers. Having received assurances that the magus family would not interfere with its old vendetta against the Inspired, it embarked on its sordid quest against the Eternal Dream once more.

The Printer Clan & The Wyld Hunt

The Printers have established a respectable front for their "hunting business" by merely titling their gathering place a hunting lodge. The hunting group they manage (called the Wyld Hunt) also says that they "hunt," but exactly what they hunt is left up to the imagination.

They are respected as a relatively well-to-do family who never lie and always keep their word, but are regarded as odd because of their tendency to circle whatever point they're trying to make several times before poking it with a figurative eleven-foot-pole. The Printers are also known for buying condemned buildings, fixing them, and then turning them into libraries. Nobody knows why they do this. Perhaps it's some sort of obsession?

People who join their hunting club (after they are contacted with an explanation of what they do) are given Inspiration-augmented equipment to hunt Dream Eaters with. Since these people are completely ordinary, the Dream Eaters can't find out who they're allied with until it is too late, making such recruitment practices a viable tactic.

Generation 1

    Wilfrid Printer
  • Wilfrid was the progenitor of the Printer family blessing/curse. When he was alive, he was described as a little timid and easily shaken. He worked as a writer, and then a historian in his time. All Printers inherit their dark brown hair and eyes from him, along with their Inspiration.
  • His power was to cause things to happen by writing about them in allegory. This caused him to switch from a writer of children's stories to a historian, as that was only chronicling things that had already happened. After a brouhaha that ended up with him cursing a magus family with Creative Sterility (after they cursed the Printers first) and making enemies of them, he had to write to save his own—establishing three rules in order for their continued existence:
    • All Printers will have a name beginning with "Wil-" to continue my legacy.
    • No Printer will speak a lie, upon pain of revoking their name.
    • No Printer will break a promise, upon pain of revoking their name.
  • Unfortunately, he died soon after he finished making sure that the Printers wouldn't wholly succumb to the curse laid on them, only staying alive long enough so he could name his son.

Generation 2

    Wilgefortz Printer
  • The sole son of Wilfrid, Wilgefortz had the power to command things to happen—with each use of his power threatening to burn out his vocal chords if what he ordered was beyond the bounds of what was considered possible. He imposed rules upon his powers, and with enough practice got his powers to extend to his writing as well.
  • After a climactic battle with the Crawling Darkness, he managed to significantly weaken it and drive it off at the cost of his voice. Soon after that, his wife died of tuberculosis. Wilgefortz has a tired and thoughtful mien and his most marked attribute is his wide, bushy eyebrows and beard.

Generation 3

    Wilbur Printer
  • The eldest of the surviving Printer siblings, Wilbur is a metalhead through and through. He doesn't really contribute to society and is in fact a bit of a loafer (alongside Wilgrimm), but regularly holds metal concerts in to keep people's spirits up (and keep Dream Eaters away), with his brother Wilgrimm on vocals and him playing his guitar. Wilhelm has to be convinced to mind the synths to varying degrees of success. Nobody seems to mind their slacking as long as they provide good company.
  • He transforms into a superpowered version of himself by shouting his full name. He gains the usual package of strength, speed, endurance, alongside the ability to shout so loud it generates a wave of force in front of him (but it strains his throat). His guitar gets the ability to shoot gouts of flame, lightning, and high-powered blasts of air and water. However, he can only maintain his transformation for ~6 hours lest he strain his Inspiration powers. Conversely, if anyone uses his full name when giving him a command, he must do it.
  • He is best known for his head of hair, which is shaved on both sides. The resultant bundle of hair is Dutch-braided behind him, revealing the runic tattoos on his scalp.
    Wilgrimm Printer
  • Wilgrimm is the second eldest Printer sibling and one of the more air-headed members of the Printer family who is able to gain the abilities of various characters in literature as long as he has the copy of the book they're from on hand. He can only maintain the transformation for an hour, and he must stay in character or else he receives backlash.
  • Wilgrimm can, if he so chooses, apply storytelling elements to the events surrounding him in an attempt to tip them in his favor. For example, he can make himself extra effective when fighting a group of mooks...only to instantly get thrashed by a single opponent. His view of himself as the tragic hero is subtly exercised in all his lovers leaving him one way or another.
  • He has very long and thick hair which he pampers daily, and spends his days writing the lyrics for Wilbur's songs and composing melancholic poetry. Some of his poems have even been published in newspapers.
    Wilhelm & Paige Printer
  • Wilhelm is the third eldest Printer sibling, and whether by sheer luck or Wilgrimm's influence (he's the youngest of three sons), is the only Printer that is still happily married, with a fairly diverse powerset to boot. Wilhelm is a nondescript man with no outstanding physical attributes except for his tattoos—he is absolutely covered in them. He has short-cropped black hair and dark eyes. He typically wears nondescript street clothes under a black hooded trenchcoat.
  • Wilhelm can manipulate any kind of ink to form constructs, as long as he can see the ink he's trying to manipulate. He can turn printed ink into liquid ink and vice versa. Once ink comes into his control, it turns black. He can store the ink he's collected in the form of tattoos, but he's limited to tribal-style ones. He cannot generate his own ink. Once he stores ink in the form of tattoos, he can use them to alter his body for a short period of time. The ink rises up out of his skin and forms the desired changes, but will continuously drip. If the ink drips away completely, the changes will be reversed. Wilhelm does not forget anything, and can turn his memories into books that he can review later. This is especially useful for investigations, as the books he creates sometimes detail things he missed. Wilhelm can quote phrases from famous books, poems, and songs in order to manifest anomalous effects in real life. The main drawbacks to this is that he has to have the book he is quoting from on his person, the books cannot be quoted from too often (or they will burn up), and it taxes him severely to quote things.
  • Paige is Wilhelm's spouse, who understands him because she also happens to be Inspired. She is a thin and lithe woman with long red hair and green eyes. She wears various colorful ankle-length sundresses under a leather jacket and boots. She walks confidently and is straight-backed. Paige appears stern, but is actually very willing to help people.
  • Paige can bring any image (drawings and photos) that she has made to life, even if it is merely a scribble. She doesn't have to pay attention to her drawings the same way Wilma has to in order to be able to animate them. She can also make the subjects of pictures move, but she cannot pull things out of them. Paige can go into her drawings to examine them more closely and talk to her own creations. However, in her pictures, everyone ignores her as if she wasn't there. The drawings and pictures are connected by her power, so she can use them as portals. She can bring people with her as long as they are holding hands.
  • Wilhelm and Paige have 3 children, and they both work part-time as librarians for their local library and newspaper contributors.

Generation 4

    Willie Printer
  • Willie is Wilbur's 10-year-old son. He hero-worships his father, but does not share his love of metal music. Instead, he likes plays and movies.
  • His powers include manipulating his surroundings by giving stage directions, the primary use of which is to teleport things ("[Insert Noun Here] exit/enter stage left/right!"). Everything is heavily telegraphed, and the louder he gives his stage directions, the more powerful the effects. He risks becoming mute if he overuses this power. His other power is the creation of masks to impersonate famous characters in plays and gain their abilities. He was influenced by his uncle Wilgrimm in this aspect. Willie often has to go to Wilma for help in making his masks.
  • Willie is quite bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and has shaggy hair and round glasses.
    William & Wilmarina Printer
  • William & Wilmarina are twins born to Wilgrimm, and the only two who have developed Inspired powers so far. William is 13 while Wilmarina is 12.
  • William has the ability to read people and things like books. This means that he has an excellent grasp of peoples' characters, but he can also read their thoughts. He can see the previous history of objects by touch, though it tires him out. His primary offensive ability is the ability to sprout 3 more pairs of arms and hands, and summon eye-familiars from the eye-holes in the palms of his hands. His main eyes have been given to Wilmarina, so he wears sunglasses.
  • Wilmarina was born without eyes, but has the ability to "read the future." Some of her predictions never come to pass, but some do because of a series of freak occurrences. She cannot control this ability, her visions coming and going as they please with no way to tell if they are accurate or not. She has named the two familiars donated to her by William Huginn & Muninn. They look like regular eyes, each bearing a pair of crow wings and legs, and each possessing a small mouth with sharp teeth. Wilmarina can see through her two familiars, and can also toggle on the abilities to a) see through things, b) remotely read text, or c) see "hidden" things (like lies) one at a time, with a steady stamina drain. Finally, they are able to fire off medium-powered psychic blasts from themselves, which also drains Wilmarina's mental strength. William's familiars work the same way, but drain him less since they belong to him properly.
  • William has short hair and rectangular glasses. Wilmarina wears her hair in low pigtails. The twins are always together, and have a great companionship. When one is harmed, you can expect the other to come running.
    Wilma Printer
    Wilselena Printer
  • Wilselena is Wilma's older sister, aged 20. Paige's powers have influenced her a lot, but she has radically different powers than Paige. She can "draw" illusions in mid-air, but their efficacy waxes and wanes along with the moon. However, if someone believes what she has drawn is real, then it will be able to affect them.
  • When she is present, she amplifies the powers of any Inspired person around her, due to the belief that the moon (her namesake) causes "lunacy." She is not amused about the implications of this.
  • Wilselena is somewhat of an emo, and professes to hate her name and the limits it imposes on her. She wears her hair (which is streaked purple) in two buns.
    Wilhelmina Printer
  • Wilhelmina is also Wilma's older sister, aged 22. Like Wilselena, her mother has influenced her a lot. She can use her art and writings to inspire extreme emotions in people (and other creatures), or just use her art to send secret messages (after all, "a picture is worth a thousand words").
  • Wilhelmina is a little timid and braids her long hair on the sides. She wears tortoiseshell glasses and currently works as a barista.

The Eternal Dream

The Eternal Dream can be regarded as a sentient plane, made up of the collective dreams of sentient creatures. The laws of stories reign supreme there, and it is the place from which all Inspiration stems. Before, it only handed out Inspiration sparingly, but ever since the Crawling Darkness appeared, it has been forced to grant Inspiration in a purer and more undiluted form, thus creating the first Inspired. The purity of the Inspiration granted to them due to their obsession with art can be harmful to them at times.

It is a patchwork land, and contains all the Internal Realities of Inspired individuals. When people dream, they swim through the River of Dreams that runs though it. It cannot be accessed normally; Inspired individuals are only able to enter their own Internal Realities sparingly and are only able to stay in the Eternal Dream after their death to become one of the characters within it.

Alice presides over Wonderland (having dethroned the cruel Queen of Hearts), and Peter Pan runs amuck with his Lost Boys on the Neverland Islands. The Ice Queen rules the North with an iron fist, with Snow White leading a rebellion against her. Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty have been rescued by their princes and rule two prosperous kingdoms who have entered into confederation. Little Red Riding Hood hunts Big Bad Wolves in the forest alongside her mentor the Huntsman. Baba Yaga brews foul concoctions in her chicken-legged hut and keeps her wisdom to herself. Hansel and Gretel spend their time in friendly competition with Dorothy, being fellow witch-hunters.

Even villains have a set role to play in this whimsical and dangerous land. Everything only makes sense when you look at it from a certain point of view, but who's going to want to visit this crazy place anyways?

Third Eye – Awakening Levels

With constant use, a human's already awakened Third Eye can begin to transmogrify into different iterations of itself; tending to alter in separate stages so as to grant its user new powers limited to that specific form. Typically the further along one gets through the stages the more difficult it becomes for the brain to handle, but not all stages measure up to their previous iteration and may be concentrated specifically on one specific set of skills. The stages of development are as follows:

  • Awakening Level 1 – Perception: The first stage of development, and the one Eyes most usually manifest in to begin with. Common Third Eyes are granted a variety of extrasensory abilities including true 360° vision, the ability to see through walls, telescopic focus, and the unique ability to perceive fundamental truths (or the lack thereof). Particularly powerful Eyes (dubbed Master Eyes like Evelyn's own) also may gain the ability to hijack any other seeing creature's eyes and "share" their vision with others through physical contact. The manifestation of pure hatred and the killing of another human being can help push this iteration into the next stage. The colouration varies from person to person, but it usually appears as a solid coloured orb with a large black dot in the centre for a pupil.
  • Awakening Level 2 – Output: The "psionic" stage, this is the point where the Third Eye develops into something more assault-focused. Able to access weaker versions of the previously listed perception powers, this Eye helps channel immense amounts of psychic energy through it for a variety of uses—psychokinesis, barriers, and intense beams of destructive power all included. Though indeed powerful, this Eye is incredibly taxing to the user's health, as it requires a tremendous amount of brain power to function and fuel all of its elaborate constructs. Colouration again varies, but typically it flips from its previous variant—sclera becoming black and the pupil becoming a glowing mass of vein-like patterns concentrated in the centre. Sufficient usage of this Eye and its previous stage can help unlock the next.
  • Awakening Level 3 – Expansion: The mix of the two previous iterations, assisted with the newfound ability for the user to manifest Eyes on the palms of their hands. Though lacking the sheer power of the second stage and the visual range of the first, this version is much more efficient in its power usage and is incredibly versatile as a result. The extra eyes allow for psionic energy to be split through multiple pathways instead of one concentrated point (at the cost of potency, of course) and they can even be overlapped with each other for an especially power explosion of collected energy. It is also possible for a Master Eye user to sightjack multiple targets at once using this stage. But unfortunately, by this point it is next to impossible for the user to remain awake while using this Eye due to the sheer mental strain it takes to keep it up. As such, the user is locked into a semiconscious state for the duration of its activity, and the Eyes automatically recede after a period of five minutes. Whether this timeframe can be increased or not remains to be seen. The Eye(s) by this point are patterned in a negative colouration to the second stage's appearance—for instance, Evelyn's Level 3 Eyes are coloured a bright white in the sclera and an electric blue in the pupil; which still resembles its direct predecessor with its more vein-like structure.
  • Awakening Level 4: ???
  • Awakening Level 5 – Grand Winged Seer: ???

  • Name: Ivy Mountain
  • Code Name: The Dragon's Head
  • Age: Unknown, but records of him date back to the Tang dynasty
  • Appearance: A middle-aged Chinese man who mostly dresses in lavish silk robes. His hair is black, but his eyes are a sickly green. He always appears to be sleepy and unfocused, to his opponent's doom. He vainly smooths out his skin with stolen Chi, which has contributed it to being less burnished as Jumping Bean's, but eerily perfect.
  • Personality: An Obstructive Bureaucrat through and through, Ivy Mountain is eager to punish mortals for any and all sins that he might be able to pin on their persons. He is secretly responsible for most of Heaven's indolence (so that the gods won't get in his way), which shows some aptitude for manipulation. He blames modernity for corrupting humans and making gods like him forgotten, so the Guardians' goal of a primitive world with no strife was very appealing to him.
  • Powers:
    • Fortitude of Body & Mind: Due to cultivating his conduct diligently over many years and becoming a Xian, Ivy Mountain is fairly resistant to mind altering, forced shape-shifting, disease and poison. In addition to that, he has a reduced need for breathing (and other mortal things) and low-caliber bullets merely give him severe bruising. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how one looks at it), the laziness that he has spread in Heaven has infected him as well, leading this aspect of his powers to have degenerated somewhat.
    • Chief Officer of the Celestial Revenue Service: Ivy Mountain has learned how to drain Chi from living things and other Xian, something that is usually done only with permission—but Ivy Mountain is a corrupt Xian, and so has no compunctions about such things. He can easily erase the record of his crimes from his ledger. This strengthens him and lets him challenge Xian with more stopping power than he has. However, this power does not work on certain kinds of undead (who do not have Chi). This power manifests itself in the form of either a whip or two mouths on the palms of his hands.
    • Taoist Magics: Ivy Mountain can write incantations down on yellow paper with red ink to make Fu. Due to his dismissal of all other Fu types as "making his hands too dirty," he only carries the kind that he can fold into familiars and minions. This wouldn't be so bad, except that there is no limit to the amount of talismans he can carry due to his own legislation.
  • Weaknesses:
    • Laziness: Due to his own laziness and corruption, Ivy Mountain's Xian powers have degenerated. He is far more likely to send out his familiars to deal with enemies for him, and should anyone be able to get past them and his own half-baked martial arts/powers, they would find that he would not be terribly hard to dispatch.
    • Missed A Spot: While erasing the records of his crimes, he missed a spot. After finding out about this, it was already too late to change it, since a few good-hearted and just Xian changed a few laws to bar him from doing so. Thus, he used his clout to take the record and hid it in some faraway location. If it were ever to be found and handed to the proper authorities, Ivy Mountain would be all but doomed.
  • Backstory:
    • Ivy Mountain used to be a widely-venerated Taoist sage who lived in the mountains near his hometown (which was covered in ivy, hence his name)...until his ascension, where he found that other Xian outclassed him in power by leagues. At first, he resolved to work hard in order to progress in rank.
    • Ivy Mountain soon grew bitter at his efforts, which seemed to bear no fruit. He soon noticed that his superiors responded well to flattery, and used that to his advantage, eventually becoming the Chief Officer of the Celestial Revenue Service, which was dedicated to regulating the amount of Chi in circulation. He quickly used his new power to manipulate the law system, all without compromising his reputation of being a kind Xian of Heaven.
    • When dealing with mortals, he found them increasingly unaware of his status and disrespectful. He had found a world which had moved on without him. Compounded with Jumping Bean's recent evasion of celestial law, he has decided that both Heaven and mortals needed to be reformed for the better—according to his views, of course.
    • He went to the Guardians, since they promised an innocent world, free of strife and cellphones that caused youngsters to disrespect their elders. With the removal with the false idols of modernity and technology, Xian like him would be more respected—at least, that's his reasoning.

  • Name: Sommerset the Ever-Golden, Last Ruler of House Elisinph.
  • Age: Many Millennia Old.
  • Appearance: By all appearances, a ten foot tall, armored figure clad in permanently golden, white, ruby red and sapphire blue armor - angelic in look and form, with the graven image of the Goddess he serves on his chestplate, which seems to be embracing him. His eyes are apparently a pair of glowing gemstones in the heavenly, winged helmet. His arms are long and slender, and end in talons alluding to a bird motif. He also has actual functional many-colored wings apparently made of stained glass. His legs likewise are long and seem to end in armored boots that never touch the ground.
  • Personality: Pious - Sommerset is pious to the Goddess of Truth, Light, Life, Pacts and Natural Law. However he takes this to mean he is licensed to punish and dispense scorn upon those who heap sacrilege upon her, whether they know it or not. Purification and benediction are the name of the game - and she accepts both in the form of pain. So it is not in fact evil for him to viciously and sadistically torture those who defy Her commandments - just making sure their souls find redemption through it. Devoted - Sommerset is a powerful and well read King of his people...a people known for their vile actions. And Sommerset is no different. The traditions they observe are naturally ordained, following nature's command - survival of the fittest and preservation of the "greatest lights" as always at the cost of "lesser lights" who need to suffer the burden of predation. And industrious - Sommerset is nothing if not given to doing what needs to be done to ensure the order of his people is top priority, even if that means signing on with people he dislikes. His first concern is always hierarchy, and destroying those - like metahumans - who exist in defiance of it.
  • Powers:
    • Seven Deadly Sins Magic: He makes use of magic designed to punish the Seven Deadly Sins, afflicting hunger, consuming rage, pain and pleasure intermittently, and other states in direct relation to how one partakes of the sin in question.
    • Windcaller: Sommerset is capable in manipulation of the power of the wind - using it both for offensive measures and to move objects as if he had telekinesis. He even particularly enjoys withdrawing wind from around someone, thus suffocating them.
    • Wings of Ataraxia: His wings are nigh indestructible and every part to the smallest glassy plume is heinously sharp and enchanted to enhance the amount of pain suffered by those hit by the wings. The smallest scrape will feel like your bone is being gnawed upon.
    • The Flame of Lu'tilvani: A powerful and destructive flame of truth and light, Sommerset's Flame, a gift from his goddess, burns those who he deems iniquitous or lacking justice, and has a particularly strong effect on unholy beings, inflicting spreading wounds and immense pain.
    • Eternity Armor: He was converted into an energy being as part of his survival, and thus inhabits his old battle armor when he is present in the mortal world. This armor is made of elusive Baern Elf metal called Xaes-Steel, which (mostly) cannot be degraded or eroded - relying upon strange "Blue Forges" in order to shape the stuff.
    • Prana: In addition to a tremendous personal energy, Sommerset can call upon natural energy to bolster himself, which can have certain effects on the local wildlife. He is a phenomenal manipulator of energy - being able to shape and fire it at foes in a variety of forms.
  • Weaknesses:
    • There is a crack in his armor - cold iron is as always a bane unto the elvish, and certain weapons specialize in dealing with elves like him. Severing his ties to his environment can also hamstring his fighting.
    • His sheer, unabashed ego. He can deny it all he wants, he sees himself and his people as the Chosen Ones destined to restore humanity and the Baern Elves' connection to the world.
    • Bringing up his old foe, The Wolf Boy, usually drastically unsettles him.
  • Backstory: Hoo boy.
    • The Baern Elves were once upon a time a species of elf that departed from others of their kind, not satisfied with the type of living involved. They wished to pursue worship of many gods and goddesses, even the dark ones. The Baern Elves were said to have developed terrifying and awe-inspiring magitek. Though they lived in carved, stone cities, they enjoyed lives of great prosperity...
    • ...the same cannot be said for their slaves. They took slaves under the concept of "enlightening them" and "letting them live in a great and prosperous society rather than sinning in their mud huts." They saw what they did to their slaves not as horror and degradation, but rather as pain that would drive them toward a revelation of the odd religion the Baern Elves enjoyed.
    • The Baern Elves would force humans to fight in "Blood Pits", and the loser became the winner's next meal. It was said the Baerns took great joy watching "lesser, scraggly cretins" claw each other to pieces. Other times, the Baern Elves would whip their slaves until naught but rags of skin existed on their backs, then heal them up, and do it all again, until the ground was entirely red. This was viewed as a religious service, and the Baerns believed the humans enjoyed it tremendously.
    • In exchange for boons from gods "light" and "dark", the Baern Elves would take human children and babies and gut them. Not wanting to leave anything to waste, the elves would throw the remains back to their parents for use as the next meal.
    • And thus it should come as absolutely no surprise that, given the appalling treatment of their slaves, human and nonhuman alike, that a rebellion occurred. A rebellion enhanced by Gillianos, who plucked one metahuman from the future. This "Wolf Boy" stood beside Evangelina Wolfharth, the leader of the rebellion, herself a half-Elf.
    • The leader of the Baern Elves in this time was Sommerset, the Ever-Golden, favored by their second greatest god Iusticia, Goddess of Light. Sommerset was known for his strict adherence to the lifestyle proscribed by Lady Iusticia - he harshly and horrifically punished a group of werewolves who practiced ancestor worship during an event called the Twilight of Crimson Tears.
    • Faced with the Wolf Boy's fierce opposition, Lord Sommerset was baffled by the metahuman and realized this metahuman's nature. Enraged by the very notion of metahumans, a "defiance of the hierarchy, a most grim example of Gillianos' depravity", Sommerset attempted to expunge, torment and eliminate the Wolf Boy on numerous occasions. However in the face of the Wolf Boy's great strength and the ingenuity and magical might of Lady Wolfharth, the Baern Empire was smashed to pieces, Sommerset vanishing just before the killing blow could've been struck. The Wolf Boy was restored to his proper place in time.
    • All record of their heinous empire was mostly expunged, and the Baern Elves are mostly extinct owing to the violent and sustained vengeance of their former subjects.
    • But Sommerset did not die in the field - his goddess dragged him into her realm and schemed a scheme with him to return to the world intermittently. Sommerset would attempt to return to the world in the heat of the Middle Ages - leading a cult of Celtish rebels. The cult was crushed and Sommerset dispersed back into the Fornever-Light Realm by a mage called Boscovius.
    • And now, many many years later, Sommerset has become due to return yet again, with a plan at work to restore his "birthright". That this involves working with an avowed pro-human individual is not a problem to him. His problem is not with humans. It is with his hated metahuman foes - and the Wolf Boy he so despised. Or, as the Wolf Boy so called himself "The Saint".

Gillianos

I am (NOT)

Hailing from the ancient and distant corners of the Dimensional Void, according to some, Gillianos was not a deity himself but some form of eld monstrosity that predated time - a black and white scar in creation.

The ancient demiurge / creator god / trickster, Gillianos was advocate, architect and builder behind the physical universe - convincing many pantheons to become involved...but neglecting to mention something. He either, pending on the source, conveniently left some factor out of the physical universe or left something in. Regardless which is the truth, the other deities were infuriated by Gillianos' trickery.

Gillianos became and or was known as the God of Brilliance (with all that entails), God of Mortality and Immortality, God of Tricks, and "The Spanner God". According to some, Gillianos did all that he did in order to teach the other gods some sort of lesson.

What they did was tear him to pieces. His heart however proved invulnerable, having been used in effigy as material for the physical world - as long as the world(s) existed, Gillianos would as well. For as Gillianos said, he had ought to give, teach and trick in the mortals of the realm he architected.

Unable to further penalize him, the Gods shot Gillianos to Earth in an asteroid. His Heart took up residence "between the pages of history", rarely appearing but being known. Humans (and later metahumans) adored the God of Brilliance, while the nonhumans would come to despise him for his enduring intervention that frequently ended in their defeat.

The Early Beastmen were known as a powerful tribe that were proud of their abilities, and when they entered conflict with human tribes, pushing them to the brink, Gillianos intervened. At the eve of a battle, Gillianos allowed one of the human warriors to drink from the grimy, metallic god-blood flowing from the shattered arteries of Gillianos' heart.

This warrior shattered the Early Beastmen war force singlehandedly, and expressed gratitude openly to "Great Gillianos". The Beastmen were only more infuriated when Gillianos denied any credit, and passed it along to "his foe's arrogance".

Many years later, a powerful forest dwelling tribe of Cat People came into conflict with a strange collection of humans and those allied with them who proclaimed themselves "Sons of Wolfharth" despite the fact Lady Wolfharth had not been born yet.

Angered by the group's "acts of defilement and disrespect", the leader of the Cat Tribe Jyulakhan besieged the humans. On the 666th Day of the Siege, they broke through, only to find their prey gone. Taking it as them withdrawing to the inner sanctum, Jyulakhan besieged it in turn...

...only to find in turn that the inner sanctum was empty. He had thrown six of his direct biological sons lives against its magical defenses for naught. He only heard the laughter of Gillianos - the God had shown his followers an underground passage out.

Screaming his rage at Gillianos for 72 hours straight, Jyulakhan then dropped dead once finished.

The case of the Baern Elves soon followed, with Gillianos taking note of the cruelty of the Baern Elvish Empire, and their abject haughtiness. Plucking a future meta-human to provide an example, Gillianos also gave "great inspiration and a deep well" to Lady Wolfharth.

After a lengthy war, the Baern Elvish Empire was crushed and destroyed in its entirety, few ruins remaining.

Gillianos' name only blackened further among the nonhumans - in all times when they grew powerful and endangered humans, Gillianos would send down his grave intellect and a sampling of his eternal blood to break this hold.

According to some, The Wolf Boy that Gillianos sent down to aid Lady Wolfharth saw the Ancient Heart-God, while according to others he actually could not perceive Gillianos due to the role the God played in his presence in that time period.

At any rate, the rise of the meta-human is, according to the few Anti-Priests of Gillianos left, to "be blamed upon and or credited to" more interference. The God of Brilliance supposedly began adding a specific and powerful celestial metalloform to humans in increasing amounts. This however is never confirmed or denied, and could well be false...pending on your view point on the events.

The fact some of his Anti-Priests have said contradictory things hints at the nature of his followers and his own existence. Indeed, according to his more esoteric Anti-Priests, Gillianos supposedly "cloaked himself in ancient Sumerian and Mesopotamian lore" and "became YHVH - if only to see how many rules humanity would be willing to follow before they struck out on their own in defiance, a jape indeed, for Gillianos laughs at those who stubbornly follow his jest."

Gillianos' presence is a strange thing.

He exists properly in the world only when observed and verified as existing, yet exists in a deithic and absolute sense when not observed. Thus, catching him in existence is a troublesome idea and can rely upon either happenstance, when the deity desires to be found, or complicated metaphysical pinnings designed to find and uncover him.

JUSTICE LORD PROFILE:

The Shape (Previously Zachariah Hirschbaum)

When one imagines a man breaking, a lot of scenario's goes through ones mind, but none more so than the act of losing everything they'd loved and fought for. And unfortunately for Zachariah, that's the fate that befell him. Adamant about the idea of the Savior's being a thing, tragedy struck in the form of Yoko, his fiance/lover being taken before his very eyes and unable to do anything to stop it, or help. Having lost the person that he'd become immortal for, Zach's mind simply shattered under the grief. He was promised a chance to ensure this sort of tragedy would never befall anyone else.

Having given up his name, "The Shape" is a fearsome enforcer of the Savior's when they don't want to get their hands too dirty. Cold and quiet, calculating and methodical and ruthless to a terrifying degree, The Shape appears to those that need to be taught their lesson as a shape of black ink in the form of a human figure. Afterwards, he becomes a terror of ink, ensuring the peace that the Savior's have tried so hard to uphold, no matter who may need to bleed to do so.

Some speculate as to why he appears like this, as a shapeshifter. Some claim it's about the mind games. Some claim it's so you can see the endless depths of the abyss in the ink, knowing there's no hope. And some speculate that Zach has simply forgotten what he originally looked like, lost to his own despair and his own shattered heart and reflecting what he is now: A glorified attack dog for the Saviors, trying to find a new purpose after losing his original one.

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?

Mortician-The Undead Aristocrat

Mortician was born a foppish nobleman obsessed with the occult and its practices. However he one day happened across a book of spells with real power to them and unlocked power over life and death itself, at the price of removing all that made him human and leaving him with nothing but a skeletal body. However his knowledge of magic gave him a workaround, so long as he could feed on enough life energy he could regain a more human like visage.

He was eventually chased out of England by various agents of the government who had tracked his rampage throughout the countryside. Fearing for his safety against various other greater practitioners and the secret agents of the crown he boarded a ship to the still forming United States, taking to the frontier to continue his grisly work while building a power base for himself.

However his every advance was met by the brave men and women of the 'Bright Riders', a group of traveling lawmen who dealt not only with bandits and other lawless individuals, but with the threat of the supernatural that threatened the country. Echos of the legends containing their battles are told as tales between the families who witnessed them. Their final fight ended with Mortician sealed in a casket designed to stop any magic from being put to use, and buried deep into the ground.

And there he sits, in a state of undeath waiting for release. And on that day, he plans to bring an old world terror to the present.

As mentioned before by JF in passing, to serve for now as a background character for potential later usage.

  • Real Name: Alice Pleasance Liddell, though legally her surname has been changed to Greenwood. She still introduces herself as the former, though.
  • Superhero Name: Alice, still. She finds the whole concept rather silly.
  • Age: 170, if one wants to get technical. However, she carries the appearance of a girl in her mid teens due to her nature.
  • Appearance: As such. 5'6", though her appearance is somewhat subject to change. Dress can range from a plain, brown variant, one of a navy blue, and of the pale colouration seen here. These cycle depending on her mental and emotional state. It is also noted that her appearance becomes thinner and slightly more unkempt if she believes herself to be in reality.
  • Personality: A polite, respectable young girl who seems remarkably attuned to the odd and unconventional. Alice has clearly been raised on Victorian mannerisms though has seemed to have since abandoned their more archaic values—much more accepting of the newfound norms in modern society even though she's kept her old-fashioned way of speech and overly well-mannered nature. Prolonged talks with the girl will however reveal her to be quite eccentric—entertaining bizarre and nonsense thoughts that seem to manifest in her mind at random and laughing at the strangest of philosophical musings. Even she considers herself to be mad, and irrefutably so—claiming that no sane person would be as offhanded as she in her dealings with talking cats and mad hatters obsessed with tea parties. Her childish love for the fantastical is marred slightly by an edge of stubbornness and occasional ruthlessness, as she is set in her ways to do what needs to be done and rarely backs down from confrontation if it presents itself to her. In her saner states she is quieter and more anxious, highly-strung and prone to periods of reclusiveness, but in her delusional episodes she is much more extraverted and chatty to those whom she finds interesting. Ultimately, Alice runs on her own bizarre set of morals, but she makes known her opinion that ‘a madwoman needn't necessarily be a bad one’.
  • Powers:
    • Wonderland Manifestation: According to some (read: most) accounts, Alice was the precursor of the current form of Inspired—namely in how her Madness shaped her dreams into reality. This is all a bit beyond her, and ruins the fun in her opinion, and so she describes it more simply as what she considers it to be: a limited manifestation of the things she subconsciously wants/needs from Wonderland. Such manifestations include the legendary Vorpal Sword, size-changing confectioneries such as the enlargement cake and shrinking drink, and occasionally even small amounts of flora or fauna from the realm. It is not uncommon for exotic vines, butterflies, or chimeric ‘cattlebirds’ to slip into reality now and again, and she apparently has managed to permanently summon the Cheshire Cat as a companion (though his ability to disappear at will may contribute to that). Alice's abilities mainly only work when she's not actively thinking about them, and even in the cases where her will shapes their manifestation she must first believe she is in Wonderland where such things are acceptable. If not, she will have no ability to draw from her dreamscape at all.
    • Cheshire: A certain enigmatic cat who enjoys acting as Alice's ominous harbinger. With a grin so wide it literally stretches up to his ears and a mangy form eternally haunting to those who dare lay eyes upon him, the Cheshire Cat uses his uncanny appearance and silky baritone in juxtaposition to rattle the persons he decides to speak to. Talking in riddles and thinly-veiled insults, the Cat provides both a fine (though irritatingly vague) early warning system due to his savvy and awareness as well as being a unique source of comfort for his no-longer-human charge. Alice adores him as a pet and is fond of him as an old friend, even if they snipe and bicker at one another like grouchy old siblings. The Cheshire Cat can disappear himself either partially or completely at will, is not at all tied to any single realm (appearing in both Alice's mind and in reality in a manner sometimes simultaneously) and is remarkably unaffected even by the most lethal of experiences. It is no wonder that Alice considers it a relief he is of the merely observant and passive role, as the concept of him being in any way malevolent is something more frightening than she could ever bear to consider.
  • Gear: Variable, but her Wonderland dress can repair itself of damage and her Vorpal Sword is regularly used as a personal weapon. The items she uses are mostly consumables or trick gadgetry; size-altering drinks and foodstuffs that can dramatically shrink or enlarge her as well as more commonly useful items such as oversized hairpins and twine to be used as climbing tools. Alice must often be tricked into manifesting them by the Cheshire Cat or others, as they are rarely available unless she expects them to be there.
  • Backstory:
    • Born in 1852, Alice Pleasance Liddell was a rather strange girl from as early as anyone from that time could remember. Endlessly curious and boundlessly energetic, the young Alice seemed to have questions upon questions waiting to be answered that would only be filled in by her nonsensical childish logic if she was not immediately provided with the correct response. Caricatures of those she knew and met soon formed themselves in her mind—the ever-late White Rabbit, the insane and obnoxious Mad Hatter, the nervous and high-strung March Hare—all considered mad according to her logic and all based upon individuals she likely never saw again. Unbeknownst to her, her imagination was growing to levels obscene and daresay supernatural—culminating in the particular and unforgettable time when she chased a certain white rabbit into its burrow.
    • Though missing or misconstruing certain details, Alice's adventures largely went as they were later recorded in the books she herself inspired. The primary difference here was that her adventures continued past two—her overthrowing of the Queen of Heart's kingdom being one significant venture. What she didn't account for was her growing obsession she had with Wonderland, and the claws of Madness that whispered for her to stay there—a split occurred, and the most bizarre of events happened afterwards: cementing her status not only as an Inspired but something much more intangible than that.
    • The ‘real’ Alice Liddell lived on, married, and died. The ‘imprint’ of Alice Liddell—the idealized version of herself that her brain constructed—remained in Wonderland. The dream had become part of a larger whole, and her mind—though now without a body—was safe in collective memory. Unaware of the time having passed in her unending dream, Alice continued to interact with the denizens of Wonderland, up until she bumped into a young girl with a newspaper hat. Unfamiliar with this individual, Alice questioned her of her place in Wonderland—only to be told through long talks and many cups of tea what exactly had happened.
    • Alice had become a mere conceptual entity, an ‘idea’ considered an irremovable part of Wonderland. Though tentative of facing the outside world yet again, Alice eventually agreed to return to it—reconstructing her body as much as she possibly could to resemble her previous form as she left it and returning to the realms of reality. Understandably shocked by the developments in both technology and culture since she last saw it, Alice assumed she ‘must still be mad’ and had never left Wonderland—unintentionally transforming a stray feline into the Cheshire Cat in a subconscious effort to convince herself of this fact.
    • Thankfully, she soon met up with Wilma again before she could cause any further damage. Temporarily taken in by the Printer family until could properly settle into society, Alice eventually recovered from her shock and agreed with only minor trepidation to be adopted by a particular family with a knack for the strange—the Greenwood family, who were all too happy to accept her into their lives (barring a soon-to-be sibling or two, of course). Now with a family again and slowly adjusting to modern society and the now common existence of the strange and bizarre, Alice's experiences have left her still quite unsure in her place in reality, but at thee very least she can accept herself as content wherever she finds herself. Just as long as she has the voices in her head to talk to and that familiar serrated grin to knowingly smirk back at out the corner of her eye.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Has never seen the films, and has flatly refused to. Partly because she gleans no entertainment from sitting still and watching moving pictures on a flashy screen, and partly because she can't help but feel baffled at how she and Wonderland is portrayed. Though strangely she seems more offended at how she's associated with being blonde over anything else.

Real Name: Walter Gallowglass

Superhero Name: The Clockwork Man

Age: 25

Appearance: Street clothes, though he’s never seen without his golden tercio helmet and a gear emblem somewhere on his outfit.

Personality: Walter is, above all, calculating. He will always try to have a backup, and in fact, is obsessed with having contingency plans and hidden resources that will allow him to come out on top and win. This is just part of his relentless mania for perfection-it drives him to endless practice, study and planning before he even begins an operation. If he has a flaw, it is his desire for a tight schedule and to show off the results of his hard work. And he likes a little drama. Explains the mask.

Powers: Apparently endless reserves of cash and features that just blend into a crowd if he’s not wearing the mask. Also surprisingly agile.

Gear: Walter has contacts and “friends” all over the supervillain map. They lend or create some weird new tech for him, and he’ll try it out and give them the results to peruse from the safety of their lairs. (Put another way: he can come up with most anything as long as it’s not too outlandish or lethal-he’s not interested in bloodshed, though he will put civilians in danger as long as he thinks they’ll be rescued and let him getaway.

Backstory: Walter really came into his own after college. Engineering was fun, but he wanted to see the world, and so he joined the military and then a defense contractor. Picked up by the informal “experimental science” group. Walter displayed a passion for outside the box thinking and using himself as the Guinea pig…so much so that he was eventually “fired” and then commissioned back on a freelance “science adviser.” His real job was to test new and unusual weapons in the field, and if heroes were around, well that was just better data.

Miscellaneous: Science!

  • Name: Kenon Streiss / Ignis / (insert large number of aliases)
  • Age: 19 / 20 (though given the amount of time and dimension related plans he's gone through, his exact age is difficult to pin down)
  • Appearance: Ignis is - outside of his armor - exactly identical to Cole in every single way. He does however prefer to wear rather more fancy and upper class clothes in his civilian guise, and most can tell there are distinct differences in mannerism. Ignis' armor is usually what sets them apart - it best resembles a gigantic spiked set that seems to be made of eternally flowing, shifting mercury. His helmet completely covers his face, having four horns in total on the headpiece. His shoulder plates have what look like clock hand inspired thorns coming out of them. He usually wears a black cape with his armor with his coat of arms on it.
  • Personality: In contrast to the brusque and often impetuous Cole, Ignis comes off as more polite, restrained, affable and with a sense of decorum. He seems to take a distinct sense of personal enjoyment in what he does, be it tormenting Cole, breaking down people's lives, or outright controlling them - and he never quite stops being polite about it. When it comes to leadership, Ignis lives by the idea that you get further by giving people reason to follow along. "Keep feeding the underlings their preferred carrots in tasty doses, and you will likely never need the stick." That isn't to say he's averse to it, nor is he necessarily averse to creating reasons for people to follow him wholesale. Due in part to his and Cole's shared backstory, he came to the conclusion that gods - and any self-proclaimed gods - need to be undercut and ultimately removed, in favor of recognition of powerful humans. He takes a unique approach to the "World of the Powerful" philosophy of Alpha-Leunis, his "Father"; he believes in making as many people powerful as possible so they can enjoy the fruits of life, whatever that may be for them. In his perspective, conflict induces creativity and evolution, so it must be cultivated into proper expression.
  • Powers: His powers are the same as Cole's if somewhat stronger due to proper training - the difference between them is that Ignis has none of the control issues Cole does, and as a result can use his powers with much greater finesse and capability. The only problem is a need for concentration.
  • Gear: His armor is personally constructed by him, and is Nigh-Invulnerable.
  • Backstory: While Cole languished in the bunker with the dead bodies of his caretakers, to be later rescued by Clan Asher, Kenon, his twin, was taken in by the Horseman Death. Death introduced Kenon to Alpha-Leunis, believing the boy had tremendous potential. Alpha-Leunis dubbed him Ignis, and commenced both training and bringing Kenon up in his belief system. However, Kenon discovered one of his own, deploring the preference for existing strength that showed itself in Alpha-Leunis' philosophy. Eventually, Cole and Ignis grew to conflict with one another, culminating in Ignis participating in a scheme that led to Cole's infant son Tyson being sequestered away in an "enhanced time dimension" that resulted in a 17 year old Tyson emerging, loyal only to Ignis. There was some strife within the forces of Alpha-Leunis due to this - some grew cautious of the increasing influence Ignis possessed. Ultimately, however, before Alpha-Leunis could act on any of these rumors, he was slain by Cole, even as Ignis watched from the sidelines, deciding against doing anything. As Cole was slung to the Dimensional Rift, Ignis commenced consolidating his power and expanding it, hunting his brother across the dimensions.

Real Name: Eliza Lazaresku

Superhero Name: Crowd

Age: 27

Appearance: Usually wears a white tanktop with suspenders, jeans, and Doc Martens with red laces on one and blue on the other. Her red hair is shaved very close and multiple tattoos. Very strong-looking.

Personality: Eliza is a hard woman. She’s a wily, sneaky person who loves using her powers to manipulate people and gather information. She likes finding people with unique skillsets or knowledge and stealing it, often killing them to keep it special. Utterly uncaring of collateral damage, but she can fake it with the ease of a born sociopath (she does have genuine feelings for her doubles, however, and will always have one around). Eliza will, however, keep her word, but she likes finding loopholes in it.

Powers: Enhanced physique. She’s stronger, tougher and all-around more powerful physically than a normal human. Think a step above Batman.

Duplication: She can make a possibly-infinite number of duplicates of herself very quickly and easily (barring room). Usually, they will look like her, but with some effort she can make them different (though with no control of how they will look). All of the duplicates have free will, but they will also obey her and follow her requests without question. She can also control, see through and speak through any of them. (and as long as one of them is alive, so is she, but no one else knows this). All areas flawlessly good at working together as she is at multitasking.

Skill/Information Duplication: She or any of her dupes can absorb and copy any skills or information a person has just by skin-to-skin touch. When one knows or can do something, they all can.

Gear: Her various dupes will be outfitted for whatever comes up, but a typical loadout is a high-powered pistol, taser wand, and brass knuckles. Sometimes carry a syringe with poison if hunting a target. All of her dupes have a poison tooth.

Skills: You name it and it’s useful, she can do it.

Backstory: Honestly, much of her background is unknown, simply thanks to her doubles systematically erasing records anywhere they can be found. What is known is that she was born in Romania but soon left to live in Boston. She discovered her powers in roughly puberty, where a sealed juvenile record bearing her name was found. Since then she’s spread herself worldwide, and she does various jobs both for herself and different organizations, steadily building the reputation of an all-female led crime syndicate. Worked for at least three US federal agencies who all still believe that she’s just one very skilled person. Her main self is very securely tucked away (aka cannot be found in game and none of her dupes will give her up.) Two world governments suspect her true nature are but are content to keep her secret, both for practical reasons and because they also fear her reach. Because make no mistake: Eliza is everywhere. Blackburn. The CIA. The Navy. In the Post Office. Behind you.

Miscellaneous: Anything you can think of that doesn't fit into any of the other categories.

BILLY HOTSHOT:

Billy Hotshot came from a family of hunters off the coast of Florida. Unfortunately his mother died in childbirth, leaving his father to raise him all alone. He tried to care for the child as best he could, but he soon blamed the death of his wife on Billy and was incredibly hard on him as a result, going so far as to beat him whenever he drank too much booze. Billy himself only wanted his father’s affection, but the more he was denied it and the more he suffered, the more he grew to hate him.

One day during a hunting trip deep in the swamps, Billy’s father got drunk and was so drowned in his hatred and grief that he tried to kill Billy with a shotgun. Billy ran for his rifle, managing to reach it before his father took the shot. At first he tried to scare his father into surrendering, hoisting his rifle as taught and threatening to blow his brains out. But his father didn’t back down and began to pull the trigger. And so, Billy pulled it first.

At first Billy was horrified what he had done, but he also felt a sense of relief. Relief that his father could torment him no longer. And it also filled him with a sense of exhilaration. Hunting down animals was one thing, but this was on another level. The sheer act of taking another’s life, of holding it in his hands. The rush of knowing someone’s fate was at the mercy of his fingertips. And yet there was still part of him that was terrified at this new discovery. That knew thinking this way was wrong. He thought about seeing a therapist or a psychiatrist, but he knew that if he did, he’d have to turn himself in. He may have been mortified at what he did to his father, but he didn’t want to be arrested of it. He wasn’t deserving of that much.

And so he came up with another solution: Joining Saint Academy. Billy had little interest in becoming a hero, but thought that if he at least made the attempt, perhaps it might rid him of those horrifying urges. Instead it did just the opposite. All of the training he received and everything else only served to strengthen them all the more, and before long, he forgot why he even joined the academy in the first place. By the end of the first semester, he now only cared about the thrill of the hunt and the kill, culminating in him slaughtering a crowd of hostages in a training session. The fact they were only holograms were the only thing that kept him from being arrested on the spot, and he was unceremoniously booted out of the academy shortly after.

Not that this deterred Billy. By now he no longer cared about anything else but the hunt and the thrill of the kill. As well as taking revenge on anyone who would deny him that. To this end he trained himself in any number of firearms and explosives, styling himself as a would be terrorist and serial killer. And when he was ready, he finally saw sit to take revenge on those who had wronged him. Of course, he failed. Miserably. But he wouldn’t give up. On that day, he swore he would hunt down everyone who had sentenced him to this fate. No matter how long it would take.

Billy isn’t much for words. He’s smug, arrogant, and doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him, but he’s also a man of action. He lives for the hunt and the thrill of the kill, and the only thing stopping him from shooting down anyone he can get his hands on is his need for revenge. Ridding himself of those who wronged him come first, even if doing so won’t come close to quenching his bloodlust. Billy is skilled in all manners of firearms and many a different sort of explosive. He’s also a decent hand-to-hand combatant, and knows how to make the most of what he has. Which isn’t always much.

Billy doesn’t really watch movies or tv or even read. When he does, he prefers slasher ficks and war films over anything else.

LORD BURNER

Lord Burner isn’t quite sure how he came to be. All he knows is that he woke up in a back alley some years ago without even the clothes on his back. The only thing he really knew was that he could turn himself into flame, as well as create and control it. Not that he cared. The other thing he knew was that he was filled with an insatiable drive to turn everything around him to ash, if only for the sheer pleasure. Since then he’s made token attempts at finding means to substitute that burning void, complete with gestures at becoming a more rounded individual. But the need remained. It was so great that he teamed up with several other villains about 4 years ago to attack Saint Academy, only to get his ass handed to him and get thrown into a cell specially tailored to contain someone with his abilities. As a result, he now has one other need almost as strong as his desire to see everything burn. To see Class 1 or what remains of it turn to ash. No matter what it takes.

Though in truth, his past is somewhat more complicated than that. Lord Burner is in fact an artificially created being, created by a shadow cabinet of the government formed to create countermeasures against superhumans in case they ever posed a threat to the nation. He was an experiment to see if they could create artificially made Superhumans loyal to the government, but of course, it went horribly wrong. The being later known as Lord Burner quickly proved far too unstable and powerful to control, and escaped in a searing blast of flame as it soared off to parts unknown. The project was scrapped, at least until they could show proof that this sort of thing wouldn’t happen again. For now it has remained off the table, but if the superhumans prove to be too much of a threat to be ignored, well, who knows?

Lord Burner is a textbook psychopath and a grade A pyromaniac. He’s reckless, wild, psychotic, firey, hot-headed, and considers himself God’s gift to humanity. All he cares about is getting his kicks and experiencing the sheer joys of arson, even if it means setting everything around him ablaze to appreciate it in its’ full glory. He does have a more mellow side that shows up when he wears himself out, but that only happens every so often.

Lord Burner is able to turn himself into fire as well as create and co ntrol it. Naturally he is weak to water when he’s turned himself into flame, though it won’t work if he’s flesh and blood.

Lord Burner doesn’t get out much, especially since he’s spent most of his life locked up in prison, but he does enjoy action movies and disaster films when he gets the chance.

JEZEBEL

Jezebel was just an ordinary, spirited, idealistic and naive young teen without a care in the world. Her parents were warm and loving, and saw to her every need. She had friends, family, excellent grades, and even a decent allowance. Everything seemed absolutely perfect.

Until the day she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Jezebel was distraught. Nearly every single thing in her life had gone her way, and suddenly her days were numbered. Maybe this karma. Maybe this was the world’s way of saying she had it too easy. Not that Jezebel cared. Maybe she did have it easier compared to most, but she didn’t deserve this. She was scared out of her wits, and was desperate for any sort of solution.

Luckily, someone happened to have one. Just when things seemed utterly hopeless, a well dressed man with a gold tooth, sunglasses, and and silver cane appeared in her hospital room. Going by the name of Mr.Trix, he said he had a solution to her problems. As it turned out, he was a demon. He was also skilled enough in transformative magics to turn others into demons, which was a skill that was often in demand. With all the border wars and territorial disputes that occur in the Abyss, new recruits are occasionally selected from other races such as humans to fill out the ranks when the body count gets just a bit too ponderous. Of course, one has to wonder why one would agree to become another species, but there are certain advantages to becoming a demon. Such as being immune to disease. And Mr.Trix made sure to explain this to Jezebel oh so succinctly.

On any other day, Jezebel would have rejected his offer in a heartbeat. She was too pure and sweet to ever consider becoming such a vile and vulgar creature! But given her situation, she couldn’t help but mull over it over. The last thing she wanted was to become a demon, but she also didn’t want to die. So against her better judgment, she agreed.

She regretted it almost immediately afterwards.

On the one hand, her cancer was now gone. She could also feel raw power coursing through her veins, not to mention other perks and bonuses. But something felt… wrong. At first she couldn’t quite nail it, but after spending a few days outside the hospital, it became clear. Rather than the sweet summer child she used to be, now she was anything but. Rude, crude, dour, vicious, a born cynic and punk to the extreme. Everything she wasn’t. She knew demons always had looser inhibitions than humans according to Mr.Trix, but this was something else. Her wants and desires, her hates and fears, her entire personality had been altered. And she was completely aware of this fact. Something had gone wrong.

Sensing her distress, Mr.Trix appeared to her, asking oh so innocuously what was wrong. Jezebel grabbed his throat and pinned him to the wall, threatening to tear out his jugular unless he changed her back. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. Nor was it possible to revert her personality. While most abyssal conversions only resulted in loosened inhibitions, occasionally the change results in a much fiercer and more visceral personality taking hold and replacing the old one. Usually when it’s with someone as sweet and innocent as Jezebel was.

Jezebel was distraught. She had managed to conquer cancer and extend her lifespan, but at the cost of the person she used to be. This left her conflicted. Part of adored who she was now, but she knew it was only because her personality had been altered enough to think so, and that the person she used to be would have hated her current self. She wanted to love herself, to simply be, but she couldn’t stop thinking she should hate herself instead. So she did. She hated what she was, refusing to forget what she used to be, even when there was no going back no matter how much she tried. She even attended Saint Academy in the hopes that their resident sorcerer may have been able to restore her old self, but there was no such luck.

After living with her situation for so long and exhausting every possible alternative, she eventually came to the conclusion that she either had to learn to live with herself, or go absolutely insane. Not wanting to go anywhere near the latter, she reluctantly went with the former. She began taking therapy, slowly but surely coming to terms with the choice she made and the consequences thereof. And when she was ready, she at last took an extended stay in the Abyss. If she was going to learn to accept herself and her newfound demonic heritage, then she needed to properly explore it. And the best way to do that was to go straight to the source. Eventually, she finally managed to come to terms with her new demonic personality, accepting that there was no turning back no matter how much she wanted to. Though accepting and embracing it were two different things. If someone offered her a way to change back, she’d take it in a heartbeat. But for now, she was finally able to live with herself. And as much as she might deny it, there’s a part of her that’s beginning to enjoy it.

As a human, Jezebel was adorably sweet and charmingly naive. She could be a bit thick, but she was still the kindest and sweetest kid on the block. As a demon, she’s a total hardass. She’s largely no-nonsense and doesn’t care for any crazy antics, and can often get pissed at the slightest provocation. She’s worked on keeping herself from going off the handle, but when shit goes down, she revels in it, and can be something of a sadist. Often in spite of herself. She loves a good fight regardless of how much she’d prefer she didn’t, and while she’s gotten better at accepting her new persona, there’s a still a tinge bitterness compared to how she used to be. Perhaps it’s because of that that she’s developed a surprising sense of altruism. Possibly as a rejection to her demonic nature, she’s done her best to become a hero. No matter how much she complains or may wish she was doing anything else, she’ll always stop to help someone in trouble, and is even on track for joining the Foundation when she returns from the Abyss. If nothing else, it’s a reminder of her old self and lets her know that there’s still some small portion of the kindhearted caring person she used to be left within her. Additionally, she doesn't have much in the way of filters, often speaking whatever's in her mind no matter how much it may offend people or put them off. Especially after the stay in the Abyss. She's also a supporter of anarchism and detests authority, especially dictatorships, but tries to have some respect for lawful order if only due to her memories of her previous personality.

Jezebel has the standard demon powers with some of her own additional touches. She has great strength and durability, can grow wings on her back that allow her to fly, and can teleport great distances. She’s also capable pf generating explosions with her fists and feet, though she has to touch whatever she’s exploding for it to work.

Jezebel enjoys slasher films, black comedies, exploitation flicks, and punk rock, though it took her a while before she let herself really get into them.

I've got an idea for a sort of older sort of Mentor/Teacher/Tutor kind of character who's a notable space hero of sorts.

Would that be fine?

The Peoples of Fala's Home Planet

There are a multitude of different races on Fala's planet of origin, each with their own unique abilities and cultures; however, there are some similarities between the different peoples that they all have in common.

  • They do not require traditional food for sustenance note , relying entirely on photosynthesis for energy.
  • All of the races have female-coded features by Earth standards, however, they are capable of reproducing with another of their same race, note  and for all intents and purposes, they are considered intersex. To lower the chances of potential inbreeding, some clans send out scouts to collect pollen samples/seeds or even bring back whole plants of their Earth equivalents.
  • All of them have a healing factor to some degree, and thus are fairly difficult to kill without completely annihilating them. They are, however, vulnerable to ice powers, which can freeze their internal fluids and leave them unable to move.

Nananites

A proud race of warriors that are currently in a territorial dispute with the Karpouzians.

Typical Features:

  • Rough, segmented skin with retractable spines,
  • Translucent yellow eyes and innards
  • An offset atop the head with green fronds, giving the appearance of a permanent spiked ponytail.

Unique Abilities:

  • Acid Spit: Ranges up to 20 feet

Misc:

  • Nananites have a far more difficult time growing offspring from seeds than the planet's other inhabitants. Because of this, most Nananites opt to cut off their offsets to grow their children from. note
    • This is often done with a special ceremonial dagger passed down from generation to generation at coming-of-age celebrations; the would-be parent cuts it by herself if she is single or, if she is married/in a relationship, has her partner do it for her in a display of trust and commitment. As such, cutting a Nananite's offset without consent is seen as heinous and dishonorable.
