Mahou Shoujo Ore

I saw a little bit of discussion at the announcement in some of the other threads, but we don't seem to have a proper thread for this show. And now that the first two episodes are out it seems about time.

1 & 2 spoilers I decided to give this show a shot today and man was it a blast. The way the shows playing with magical girls tropes and the love tetrahedron forming is really great to watch.

It's was funny as hell to me.

If a shot I saw in the ED happens, Saki can have her (beef)cake and eat it too.

I love it.

This show loves Magical Girl tropes... And it's going to do things to those tropes, special things, secret things... Until they love it back, oh yes.

This and Hinamatsuri are both way too hilarious.

I love Kokoro, and the mom, and the manager, and the love triangle is the best ever. I also like Saki's terrible-yet-catchy singing voice.

Episode 3:

I thought the start dragged on a bit, and this episode was probably weaker overall, but I still enjoyed it.

I'm watching episode 3 right now. When will this fucking flashback fucking end!?

Edit: I'm actually very disappointed. The only funny joke was the boobs=penis one, and they wasted literally half the episode on the most generic, boring backstory flashback I've ever seen.

I actually love the flashback a lot, and thought the boobs > penis joke was the least funny joke the series has to offer.

it being boring seemed to be the point they were going for, and I liked it a lot.

Flashback...like or dislike.

Of course...

I'm not a fan of boobs=penis jokes in general, because c'mon you guys, those body parts obviously aren't analogous. Boobs=pecs, vagina=penis.

Somewhat relatedly, our cultural fixation on penis size is silly as hell because there really isn't that much variance.

But they can't be the similar...

Well, if anyone needed confirmation that this is a gag anime and not a story-focused one, here it is.

Waste of an episode. But next week, it's hot springs time.

Saki's mom must be related to Hyatt from Excel Saga. Appropriate.

Since Kaito Ishikawa stars in both Uchuu Senkan Tiramisu and Mahou Shoujo Ore, a crossover promotional video has been released, "announcing" Uchu Shojo Oremisu.

Episode 10: OH MY GOD IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW I'M AN IDIOT FOR NOT SEEING IT COMING! I was totally buying Hyoue being the villain, I was convinced, but the manager makes much more sense! Wow! But I don't know how anyone could have seen Hyoue being the prince of the fairies! And yet he seemingly does nothing to help Mohiro, so that's not explained.

God, I love anime...

That was exactly what I needed to flush my brain out after Magical Girl Raising Project. Just looking at the synopsis, I had no idea Ore was going to be this funny.
