ITT: We Are All Fantasy Characters

"Water Sprite would be the easiest term to use, yes. Unless you'd like to use the term we call ourselves by, but I'll spare your solid vocal cords that workout if you'd prefer."

Nyssa laughs slightly, perhaps at the thought of those around it trying to pronounce the term correctly. Unlike most of its speech up to this point, the laughter sounds almost like a stream running over rocks and is most definitely non human in nature.

Shit. Shit shit shit. She was always terrible with crowds. That's why she loved adventures! Always getting to be alone... sometimes she had to save princesses and stuff, but at least they were quiet for most of it! She feels sweat pour down her scaly face like a waterfall as she begins to back off.

"Well... it was nice, uh, meeting all of you! I'm just gonna... n-not be here, okay?"

"Fascinating," declares Nakhta, clapping her hands briefly. "Actual proof of magic and likely travelers from some other world." Curious, she holds out one hand just wondering if the hyperactive sprite will alight on her finger. "Of course, I could be wrong and we're all just far beyond where we've each heard of, but I doubt that—oh, and yes, good day to you all formally." She chuckles herself at having to keep protocol in this situation.

She's still interested in Arva, though, and trots over, asking her to hold up so she can ask her something. She puts an arm around her, friendly, the manner of someone who's used to doing so and being thanked for it. "So, how did you hear about this place? I received an invitation brought by a page, who got it from a courtier in the marketplace. I was told there was to be an important meeting here. Were you, perhaps, told there was treasure?"

"I used to be a guard at a small kingdom called Silvia a while ago... But the job was boring, so I kinda dropped it. I figured I could've become some mercenary, but then I got here. I guess being a simple traveller wouldn't hurt."

“I think that dragon-lady has a bad case of social anxiety.”

"Trea-no uh... I wanted to move in and settle down somewhere. I got enough riches over my adventures t-to afford one and... ya know, I just wanted to..."

Dammit, she's trying to get friendly! If dragons could blush, she'd be beet red with embarrassment. "Live somewhere quiet I guess."

Observing both Nakhta and Arva's reactions, Nyssa decides to take it slow for the moment and hovers near Nakhta's outstretched hand though refusing to land on it. Having stopped moving for a reasonable duration of time, it's easier now to pick out Nyssa's features, most of which seem to be that of a miniature humanoid comprised entirely out of a sparkling blue liquid. As well as the standard appendages, however, there is a thin film of liquid between its arms and hips creating miniature "fins", though these do not seem to be required for aerial motion.

"Living somewhere quiet sounds nice..." Bryn remarks to Arva.

Holy crap it's an actual dragon oh my god i cant believe im actually seeing one. I thought they only existed in fairy tales! But there's one!

The fox glares at the human. He's making her feel bad! One gloved finger goes to her muzzle as she shakes her head.

"Ah...I see, had enough of the life? It's a rare adventurer who makes it that far. Congratulations!" That was probably supposed to be encouraging.

She realized, before, that the water spirit was examining her clothes—today, a red velvet dress, fur-lined (yes), with a few scattered gemstones, for warmth. It's only fair that she takes a closer look at the spirit, imagining perhaps how interesting they would look in a bottle on a trophy shelf...but she's not going to try it.

"Well I mean... not that. I guess I just uh... wanted like a base of operations? You know how it is... I didn't wanna sleep in the wild and stuff anymore..." Again, she's very uncomfortable but looks to the guard with a nervous smile. "But... yeah, somewhere quiet."

Bryn smiles at Arva.

The castle was too stuffy for me, though...

"Er... Thanks?" It's clear that Bryn thought that there was sarcasm in the fox's voice. She shrugged a bit. "At least I made it this far!"

A bluish flash goes off in the forest as Feorim arrives, his armor battered and rusted. He carefully looks around, walking out of the forest. There he saw a group of strangle people, looking like those he’d heard of in books of old. He unsheathed his long sword and warily approached.

"Quiet, huh? Well you came to the right place, it looks like. At least... until everyone else got here."

Nyssa takes off once more, already having tired of remaining in one place when so many different creatures are around. In its flight, it seems to grativate now to the armored and scaled members of the group, moving past only inches away from their bodies.

How do they move in this stuff, geez? Ah, well, at least I won't have any issue outrunning them if they turn hostile.

An extremely tall and slender woman appears, almost 7 feet tall. She's wearing a clock and hood, and carrying a strange looking sword. Her eyes are a blueish gray, and her hair is pure white. A white furred monkey is on her shoulder. She looks around. "Well, we're lost again", she says, with a small smile on her face.

She approaches the mansion, assuming that the leader lived their. "We'll get some answers, Lilith". She says. "Even if we have to force them out"

Suddenly, a deep voice is heard laughing. Standing in front of the bush now is the bear, surrounded by his army of crabs.

"You little twerps want answers, huh? Don't we all?"

The bear takes a bow, impressive considering his massive girth. "Lord Ulrich, ruler of Velvet Manor and this general area, at your service. Surely you've heard of me?"

Bryn just cocks her head to the right at the bear.

"Uh... Who?"

And then promptly realizes that there are crabs. LOTS OF THEM. She grabs for her spear immediately, knowing danger is about to occur. Maybe. Hopefully not.

For the second time, the fox queen spins around, and...blinks. Slowly. Crabs? Okay...why not?

Her surprise fades away after a moment, and she puts her hands on her hips, regaining formal composure, though her ears...twitching might suggest something else. "I believe your name was somewhere in the invitation..." She snaps her fingers and a rat hands it to her. "Hmmhm...ah, yes, 'Lord Ulrich'. Handwritten on the end of it. Well...greetings from Vulland."

The woman doesn't look impressed. "No, I can't recall." She looks at the bear. "Have you seen a woman with green hair and facial scars?" Her hand reaches for her sword.

A young woman in a cloak makes her way into town. She moves slowly, whether it is from the large pack she is carrying or the fact that she appears to be new to town is yet to be seen. She adjusts her cloak multiple times with one arm, and appears to be carrying something in her other underneath the cloak. If you look closely, this thing seems to be fidgeting just under her cloak.

The dragon girl looks to him. "Uh... I haven't, sorry..." She looks to Nakhta next. "You... you're still holding my neck weird..."

"Thank you, m'lady", Ulrich says to Nakhta, bowing again, while secretly wondering what the heck she and Arva are doing. But he shakes it off.

"Anyway, I just came to tell you that I find it really... interesting how well you're all getting along. It's interesting because... I HATE IT!"

"So I wanna let you know that I have so many horrible plans in store for you! Velvet Manor may be the only part of the kingdom that I legally own, but I can still go anywhere I want and cause trouble!"

"Whoops."

She backs off with an ingratiating smile to Arva, then back to the bear. She does...not seem impressed. "Wait, no. Let me get this straight. You invited us...here...to torment us? Several heavily-armed knights, magic users, magical beings including a dragon, and someone with experience commanding and with armed guards?"

"Sure. Well, in the interests of being polite and diplomatic, game on, I suppose."

A man wearing a hooded cloak straggles into town. His clothing looks kind of ragged, like it's been a while since he last saw civilization. The parts of his face not covered by the cloak look young- maybe 18 or 19. He takes a step towards the assembled group, before seemingly overhearing Ulrich and bailing in the other direction.

It's not easy to miss him, though, so if Ulrich wants to call him out it wouldn't be hard.

"Okay then..." Bryn is kinda mixed on whether she should take this seriously or not. A giant bleeding bear appeared with an army of crabs! There's no way this is serious...! But then again, he could possible ruin any possible alliances.

"What kind of trouble?"

Finally in town, she removes the hood of her cloak, revealing her dark green mess of hair.

"Well, this is it! The place where our dreams come true!" she says. The thing in her arms climbs up onto her shoulder and pokes out of the cloak. It is revealed to be a small, round, rodent-like creature.

She looks around at what's all there in this town.

"Now, where would the library be here?"

She thinks about this as she continues to look around, before seeing an inn, and goes in there. Surely she might be able to get some help there.
