I've found this from a ban evader in Scrappy Weapon: AKA: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Main.ScrappyWeapon

Non Video Game Examples:

    Real Life
  • The Schwerer Gustav in World War II. Despite having artillery that can take down large defenses, it had only fired 48 rounds, is very clunky and requires very high maintenance. After that, it's barrel had worn out and the info regarding about it is a bit sketchy.
  • Dog bombs were used by the Soviet Union in World War II. They were trained to go under enemy tanks, so the bombs can detonate underneath them. Turns out that due to the different engine functionality and smell of the German and Soviet tanks, had lead to the dogs going under the soviet tanks instead. Plus, the dogs were afraid of the gunfire.
This was removed due to the user being a ban evader, but I'm not sure if non-videogame examples are allowed like this one above or if that trope is exclusive to videogames?

There was once a non-videogame examples and a subpage for Real Life examples of Scrappy Weapon. Apart from being made by a ban evader, I don't know why they were removed?

Maybe because is about weapons or special skills in Video-games. Bad skills or weapons in other media or real life are different, since they are so In-Universe and don't have the same annoyance effect bad moves in Video-games have.

Yeah, I remember those examples. As educational as they are, I feel that they shouldn't be restored because it's kind of unfair to compare fictional weaponry to the ones that actually exists. Sure, they both kill, some are shittier than others, and some people avoid them. But the main problem that I see here is that this stuff that it's hard to tell if they were internationally bad. Yes, the artillery piece (and others, like the German Tiger I & II) were victims of engineering mistakes or faulty manufacturing methods that were probably caused by the grim reality of an war raging on. And the suicidal dog bombers had an unforeseen outcome, like that time somebody thought it would be an good idea to drive their car on an stunt ramp and wound up totaling their car.

Well there have been cases where weapons have been so faulty and hated that soldiers abandoned them whenever they could in favor of grabbing their enemy’s weapons, IE the M-16 in Vietnam.

Things like this I think is worthy of a trope, it just can’t be a Scrappy trope.

Poorly designed real-life weaponry could go on Idiot Design.

EDIT: Weaponry folder has been added to that page with these examples.
