I agree that it is a bit of a logic attack right there, but at least the game is self-aware of this.

Bana has an interesting piece of dialogue if you fast travel out of the ancient ship in chapter 1.

Anyone find out what the strongest Unique Monster is yet?

I get the reasoning why it was removed, but I still gotta ask, if the Dead or Alive version of Akira Yuki counts as a Dance Battler (despite Bajiquan not being a dance), and has for a while now, simply because his combos are very rhythmic, why don't the protagonists of this game count for the same reason? (since the game's battle system was described as pretty rhythmic).

It’s called Skip Travel for a reason vs. fast travel. It just skips the travel time from point X to point Y. The characters will even remark on this if they travel a large enough distance. The first game was similar, albeit without the extra quips. X’s system is more of the usual fast travel seen in open worlds.

I noticed I had 26 Common Core crystals, so I started bonding cause I figured there's a good chance one would be a Rare Blade.

4th one gave Rex Agate.

Which is neat, since all three of his are now Fighter Blades, with a Fire/Ice/Earth Combination.

That was also my first Rare Blade from a Common Crystal too!

My situation is that I never get rare blades from common crystals, but I almost always get them from rare crystals. Some people don't even get that really. RN Gesus is a harsh master.

I've actually gotten more rare Blades from common crystals than I have from rares. Of course, I've opened way more commons than rares but still.

I ended up with Kosmos on my 19th common core.

Gave it to Zeke since Zeke would like to have a xenosaga reference, especially since one of his battle quotes is literally "I'm really feeling it."

Watched some spoilery scenes from later in the game and damn, Nia confirmed for Melia 2.

When is that scene exactly?

Don't know, I watched it out of context but I'm on Chapter 4 and have not seen it.

Y'know, It's kinda curious how (endgame) Shulk and Rex are ultimately wielding different variants on the same power.

Not really? Their universes are connected and everything afterall.

Also nice to see Malos use Monado attacks against Rex.

In light of some Zanza spoilers, I can't help but think of how Dickson would go if he ended up in the XC2 setting and met his idol, wondering why "Zanza" is not acting like himself

Gah, I highlighted that last spoiler on instinct.

That's what I get for thread-hopping though multiple tabs.

At least it wasn't anything super major.

I should leave a post it somewhere to remind me be be more careful in these threads until I finish the game.

EDIT: Also I can't help but notice Mythra has a skill that gives a large Art refill boost upon getting a critical hit.

I wonder if there's anyway to pull off a Fiora in this game....

Well, I completed the game. So now I can look at this thread.

Guess this was the Bioshock Infinite of Xenoblade after all, and not just because it takes place in the cloudy skies.

I think so. It's been a while but Alvis said that he is the Monado right? Sounds like an Aegis to me.

Aion is easy. The only slightly difficult part was an attempted party wipe that resulted in Tora hanging on with 1 HP and then reviving me so I could revive Nia. What gave you trouble?

I think he said he was a computer running the experiment that... did not blow up the world, but blasted the surfaces into alternate dimensions.

Doesn't really roll off the tongue.

So yeah that's totally what Mythra and Malos did before getting Blade'd.

He used an attack called Prometheus that wiped the party. Didn't see the damage, just fade to black and then title screen.

...I should be using Pneuma form, shouldn't I?

I didn't need Pneuma to beat him. Were you using Tora? Because that was what I was referring to with the attempted party wipe - Tora had a passive effect that let him hang on with 1 HP and Aion stopped attacking for way more than long enough to recover.

No, my strategy was is using Roc's dodge art to survive super attacks, and being immortal through his massive crit rate and a heal-on-crit accessory.

Problem was that Prometheus fired off from beyond arts range, so I couldn't trigger the evasion.

They said you should apply as many different types of blade combos as possible, then activate Mythra's super form and start a chain attack just before that son of a bitch retreats far away and activates Prometheus.

I got blasted by it, and Morag barely survived, allowing her to revive the rest of the party, allowing us to struggle on and win.
