I believe they said as much in a podcast/fireside chat with the devs, but I'm not sure which one, exactly.

I appreciate that this thread is about a million years old and everyone involved has probably stopped paying attention, but Parse's episode of the dev podcast
definitely states that she's Aboriginal.
