I'm creating a Pathfinder campaign in a homebrew setting, and I wanted to theme it around Gods, in a sort of Rage Against the Heavens sort of way. I'm currently drawing inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus, {{Asura's Wrath}}, and God of War. The gameplay is going to focus around sneaking up on a god or monster, scaling them, and then driving a spear into their heart. The level advancement will be really fast, as I want to give the feeling of enormous scale. If anybody has book/movie/game recommendations or interesting ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm more than willing to discuss spoilers, as none of my players are tropers (yet).

I think I'm a bit of a munchkin. Tell me if you can help!

Skyscraper-sized monsters. With their own ecosystems. More like Revenge of Meta-Knight.

Interesting monsters in that sort of scenario can really help. You don't want it to just feel like everything is just getting bigger arbitrarily without much change. Check out a lot of ancient mythology from around the world for good ideas. In all honesty if you can think of some strange eldritch monster, someone else probably thought of it 3000 years ago.

As for works, some of the angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion are really mind bending in terms of how they operate. It's honestly one of the main redeeming features of that anime.
