I can take or leave the pic. The page should definitely go through the NF cleanup thread in Long-Term Projects beyond this thread.
I say we take a look at all of the Halloween episodes and see which image has the right intensity. I say the Polyibus one may be too spoiler-ish given it's supposed to be a surprised (and maybe too disturbing though that might be due to the Jump Scare effect in the actual video (in fact, watching the video without the sound makes look like an acid trip than something really haunting).
Nightmare Fuel doesn't hide spoilers.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Doesn't hide spoilers in text. Spoilers in images aren't the same. There's still the rule about no spoilers above the example line, and the page image is included in that.
Check out my fanfiction! If it's a bit soon for the Polybius image, another Halloween episode could work. I'd go with the scene from the Dark Castle episode where the Nerd lets out a demonic roar with flames in the background when showing the CD-i version.
Something from the Polybius episode would still be my first choice, though.
If an image from the Polybius episode were to be used, I'd go with the You Tube error jumpscare. It doesn't really spoil the episode.
Here's a link to an image of what Mikey describes.

Clock is set.
I like the current a little better.
Well, Robo-Cop AVGN is out and I can say it somewhat continues where Polybius left off, so the Jump Scare shot is no longer an issue.
Perhaps we'll go with that. Just no scary music.
Hokey and scary? It's a grenade blowing his face off. I don't think there would be a better example, and I don't think we would want, for argument's sake, someone who saw Jason's fatality on Mortal Kombat X and think it wasn't nearly violent enough, for argument's sake an image of something like that is going too far.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursClock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus.
The picture on the current page is, in my opinion, kinda hokey and not very scary. The Halloween 2017 episode for Polybius, on the other hand, has a couple of Jump Scares that are legitimately frightening and could serve better as the page image.
