It looks like both the "the final kingdom will be the moon" and "the finale will involve Mario Capturing Bowser" theories are correct. I'm very much looking forward to this.
♭What.Does anyone happen to have a rip of the ending theme? I may just like it more than Jump Up, Super Star.
This song needs more love.I hope I can be enlightened on this ending that apparently got people grumpy.
What's gotten people in such a tiff is that at the end of the game, Peach turns Mario down when he wants to marry her. Nobody's gotten 100%, though, so who knows how that'll change things.
That's so going to be the reward for 100% completion, you just know it.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I will also add that she turns him down because he and Bowser literally shove flowers in her face and she gets annoyed.

This song needs more love.ok so it's silly reasons for people being miffed and not actually game reasons
also why did i read that
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI dunno. Why are you in the spoilers thread?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!mario games aren't known for their intricate plots so it wasn't particularly surprising
it's not a big deal but i still kinda feel like maybe i shouldn't have

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAny Peach-Pauline interaction? Pretty interested in seeing what they might do there.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Another reason people were annoyed is because after they shove flowers at her, she rejects them both with an "Enough" and Mario and Bowser cry over it for a bit. Peach starts the Odyssey without them and seems to begin to leave; she waves and says "let's go home" but the voice is REALLY quiet so it looks like she's leaving them behind, and Mario is only able to reach the ship by jumping on Bowser.
This post I read seems pretty accurate.
The REAL problem with this ending is that it has unnecessarily done something that the series has never done before, it's divided the fanbase into picking sides between Mario and Peach over who's in the right. Every other game results in a happy ending with nothing to worry about, but this one is handled in such a way that at least one (if not both) of them is painted in a negative light, depending on how you interpret the ending scenes. It's either "Mario was a total idiot, all of Peach's actions were totally justified." or "Peach is ungrateful and Mario deserves better for all the effort he goes through." ect. Even if you're unbiased, that just means that you end up seeing them both as being partially in the wrong, because it's handled in such a way that they CAN'T both be totally innocent like usual this time. It's really such a shame, because they probably just meant it as a lighthearted comedic moment, but due to how it was executed, it caused one of their best games yet to end on a sour note that's anticlimactic at best, and needlessly controversial at worst.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Eh, from the complaints that I've seen 90% of it seems to be motivated by entitled nice guy whining about how Peach was so ungrateful to reject Mario, who did do much for her and therefore "deserves" to marry her. Like the "Oh, she was leaving him behind despite calling out to him, waving him over, and keeping the ship close (which Mario wasn't even annoyed about)" thing. Would anybody be mad at Peach over that if it didn't come right after a rejection?
Seriously this is the dumbest "controversy" ever.

This song needs more love. You haven't been around the Internet long enough.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Or at least the last three days.
This song needs more love.Mario dialogue is always hushed or muted, you really have to try to hear it whenever it happens.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Maybe they'll do interviews about the scene. Then we'd at least know what they wanted it to come off as XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I'll speak for myself and see this is as something completely stupid to complain about. Like that paragraph a couple posts above me, I would not put that much thought into it.

This "controversy" is not going to be fun.
By the way, is it just me, or does this game seem to have a lot more influence from the Wario Land series? The weirdness (Particularly with the new character designs and especially the boss battles), transformation-based gameplay and puzzles based around them, larger focus on coins and losing them instead of lives when you die, non-standard level settings that are more open and have more to collect in them, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if it was intentional, since this game is made by a merger (Nintendo EPD) of the first four Wario Land games/Wario Ware team (Nintendo R&D1/SPD) and the main Mario team (Nintendo EAD).

I've seen it called Wario Land 6 a few times XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I have to wonder what people were even expecting out of the ending.
The song is "Jump Up, Superstar!" in this case so I can forgive it.
Also, BotW did have a credits medley that played the theme of the character or area that was on screen at the time.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
So here's a general talkback for Super Mario Odyssey, made ahead of the game's release and since spoilers are already running rampant ahead of the release as well thanks to broken release dates.
Let's do the Odyssey!
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"
