just started watching this.

Its going to be Shout-Out central for the fall.

I'm not even 2 minutes into the first episode and there's been nods to:

Gunbuster and Noriko

both Gundam and Super Robot shows

Dragonball Z with a Master Roshi look alike

Nadia look-a-like who has a magical girl transformation into an idol singer somewhere between Fancy Lala and Creamy Mami

Cute mushroom mascot similar to Mario Brothers or possible a refernce to mushroom-obsessed Sucy fromLittle Witch Academia

and a giant reference to how anime tourism boosted the economy of Ooarai (which Girls und Panzer really did back in 2012)

All of this in the first minute and a half and I haven't even started the plot

This was alright. At least going to watch the next episode to see what's going on with the supernatural bits

This is cute. Minoa is sexier without her full hairdo super cute and I love the contrast between the oujo-sama and her actual personality. Talking cat is a bit weird but not too offensive. Definitely going to keep watching.

Oh man, I feel like there's more to this series than it's letting on. This first episode just felt off with the intro that freezes with a bunch of symbols in the background, the lighting, and of course that locked room, photo-negative hat, and talking cat. I wouldn't be surprised if they threw a curveball partway through >_>

well, in addition to the constant references, there was a little newspaper blurb about a space elevator

I feel like it's going to be doing something metafictional. Normally you'd expect something like this to be light on standard tropes, not super-heavy on them

The description mentions that the cast is ignoring the impending end of the world so seeing that come into play eventually should be interesting.

[up] Yeah, waiting for that bit to pop up.

So far the standard wacky-club schtick is working, though. Also kind of refreshing they didn't have to jump through hoops to get their six members though they do get hit with a typical roadblock trope at the end.

I love this anime, it is extremely anime. I'm on my toes waiting for something catastrophic to happen (signaling the end of the world), but that may not be until the end of episode 6. I like the black-haired girl.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Episode 3: It's actually kind of heartwarming to see the anime newbie so thrilled with Akiba. Like, welcome, sister.

They actually make a reference to the three-episode rule. Specifically, Madoka and Love Live. Cute. And the meta keeps on getting thicker.

The Anime Club's rousing speech was anything but, buy you can always count on the fujoshi fanbase for the popular vote!

Oh man, Kai is the best character in this flip-flapping anime. He's so great.

I definitely thought we were going to have our Genre Shift this episode after all the meta foreshadowing!

And of course, I will not be three-episode cutting this show.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Ep 4 refernces western fandom pretty well: Erika was an exchange student to California, apparently, gained friends from Anime fandom (over Precure...do you think she was watching Glitter Force?) and attended Anime Expo.

[up] Probly no. She watched a broadcast dub

[up] I know at least Futari wa and Suite had English dubs before Glitter Force was a thing. They still changed the names though.

Also we can assume the other girls are sub-purists if they want to announce themselves in Japanese.

Wait Suite got an English dub? I've only seen Futari Wa's. Is Suite's any good?

No idea, I just came across them while channel-surfing. I think it was on one of these channels.

Episode 4: So glad that the debacle with the student council is over with. That was boring.

So now the question is how the Anime Club will bring about the end of the world

Episode 6: Still waiting for that twist.

Sebas is one of the best butlers in anime, no doubt.

I kind of made a page for this anime (is this the correct procedure, right? ), I hope it works... °_° https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Anime/Anime-Gataris

Still trying to index it... :|

[up] Basically, to index a series all you have to do is insert the link to the page on another that has a list. Like I added it to the New Tens page. It could also possibly be added to Funimation and Crunchyroll's respective pages.

Yep, been there, thanks anyway tongue I had a problem indexing because I used a "-" in the title :<

Well, it took, like, three-quarters of the series, but things have finally gone off the rails. Turns out, Nakano hails from the anime world and he and the club advisor want to fuse the "real" world and anime world together for some reason. And before that, the principal happened to be a failed anime director and caused rain inside his office. And before that, everybody in the goddamn school began taking advice from the anime club and incorporated things like mech boots and shounen techniques into their activities. And then one episode took the Yui fanservice gag to the extreme and has the whole opening replaced with shots of her. At this point, it's about as wacky as I expected.
