x2 The usual cycle with revived franchises: It's mostly pre-release backlash from the pupperty-dominated animation and flat-colored, but semi-realistic art style. And the obligatory "ruined childhood mentality". A similar case with Big Mouth, which previewed around the same timeframe, but without the nostalgia.
Once people actually sat down and watched it, some of the tunes changed in a positive light. Though I think most detractors liked the Lin-Manuel Miranda's rendition of the classic theme during that phase.

The only negative aspect of the show is the stilted, ugly art style.
Apparently psychosis runs in the Frizzle family. Her sister is just as wonderfully nutty.

It's attracting tons of They Changed It, Now It Sucks! reactions. That plus the not-so-good animation are the majority of the complaints.
