How is that even a response to what I said? Obviously the event you're talking about is engineering design.

Are you insisting that marketing design does not exist. The word "design" does not only mean "engineering."

We are not talking about "Idiot Engineering" we're talking about "Idiot Design," which is far more general than just engineering design.

By that logic, using definition 1 of 'design', we could just rename Idiot Programming to Idiot Design and be done with it.

At the very least, it is not a charitable read of me. Obviously I am referencing the fact that design has so many definitions. And that I, as would most other people, think of the word "design" meaning "design" as opposed to "engineering."

Moreover, the point I originally made was here. "Advertising examples" somehow conveys "engineering" to you. That's fine, but not true and based on your own idiolect.

Then I asked this question about it being about hardware or design in general. The answer was that it's about design in general. You then twisted that to mean hardware specifically unless it's software. Which is contradictory. Obviously so.

The Permanent Red Link Club page says that part of why the So Bad, It's Horrible page for software was cut was because Idiot Programming made it redundant, so it could be that whoever cut the Horrible page for software intended for Idiot Programming to replace it. The main reason this thread exists is because so many Idiot Programming examples have nothing to do with software.

If Idiot Programming is meant to be So Bad Its Horrible for software, that would make the title unclear since software can suck for reasons other than bad programming.

We may as well change the definition to "potentially useful software hindered by bad coding" and move the software that's inherently poorly designed to Idiot Design.

Given that misuse is the other listed reason for cutting the So Bad It's Horrible page for software, I can't help but wonder why it wasn't just cleaned up instead of cut, maybe with that becoming the primary page for bad software instead of Idiot Programming. Most of the other cut Horrible pages at least have more serious problems listed as their deletion reasons (an exception being the page for cars being redundant with a non-Darth trope).

The page is going to launch tomorrow if no one has any objections.
