1) "A lot of text" is not a disqualifier by itself.
2) the suggestion doesn't do a very good job of showing that he enjoys battle for the sake of battle; only that he doesn't care who he is fighting. In fact it doesn't even look like a fight, since the other guy isn't even armed. Maybe for Pyromaniac, but not for Blood Knight.

Voting to keep current. You can see the joy on his face in the first panel, and the second panel's dialogue makes it more clear what the expression is about (namely the fighting).

The problem with the current on Pyromaniac is that gloating over an act of arson doth not a pyro necessarily make. The OP is clearly burn-happy, and while it may be more texty, it's better at getting the trope across.
