Huh. Darnic and Vlad are dead, so now the main antagonist turns out to be the priest, who's also a Ruler. Cool.
I like Sieg. Yeah he's obviously the author's self insert who has everything handed to him but as someone who likes Shirou I still think Sieg is more likable than him. Shirou's not as whiny as Shinji but he still complains a lot more than Sieg does and he also comes across as a lot more stupid. Yeah he has more of a character than Sieg does but...I still find the latter more charming. Maybe that'll change in future episodes but for now if I had to rank Fate protagonist I'd go Kiritsugu > Sieg > Shirou.
Sieg is just too boring for me to care about. I am completely neutral on him.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.^^ I still think it's funny that I don't think I've ever had an opinion that matched yours. Ever.
So um in Episode 12, what's with Amakusa!Shiro taking place of Kiritsugu's place as Irisviel's boyfriend? How goes the history again?
And here it is, the big halfway twist for people who didn't read the novel. Darnic was just a Big Bad Wannabe and the real villain is Shirou, who is a Ruler from the previous war.
Darnic was an asshole, so good riddance to him, but I feel kinda bad for Vlad. That was an inglorious fate that he suffered.
That's not Irisviel, it's another homunculus based on the same template. Remember, that the ware he was part of, took place before or during World War Two.

^^ That wasn't Iri, it was just another Einzbern homunculus. That was the third war we saw, not the fourth. This is a timeline where the Einzbern family summoned a Ruler (Amakusa) instead of an Avenger (Angra Mainyu) and for various reasons Darnic stole the Greater Grail. So the Grail isn't corrupt this time, but instead a Ruler class Servant has been hanging around for about sixty years because he got a physical body and his NPs prevent him from aging as well.
Ah the fun thing about alternate universes, the tipping point of divergence that made everything turn out differently.
Always fun to see what changed everything. I'm assuming Fuyuki is undamaged right?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Should be. Fourth war never happened, at least.
Don't you worry, our main characters from Fuyuki are living the rom com dream
What happened to Zouken in that shot there?
Did Darnic kill the little cocksucker?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Still baffles me that the Einzbern keep failing. No matter how many tricks they pull, hell, this time they had a guy that could likely either rig every fight or outright make all the others commit suicide.
There should be a new word for that level of incompetence.
Wake me up at your own risk.In the third war it's not like they lost, exactly. The Nazis and Darnic stole the Greater Grail, then Darnic stole it from the Nazis.
Also it looks like Amakusa's Master was murdered while he was gone doing stuff, which makes things kind of complicated.
Also also, Amakusa is pretty weak. Not like Astolfo level weak but definitely not a top tier Servant.
Yes. Zouken died. By Nazi (Darnic was with them before he backstabbed them).
So Zouken is... worse than Nazi?
Darnic is clearly the lesser of three evils since he betrayed the Nazis.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Darnic eats souls.

Yeah but Zouken's..... well Zouken.
Besides Darnic's dead so they both got their comeuppance.
Who died first is irrelevant as long as both are dead.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."He doesn't have evil bugs that defile people physically and mentally, so he's still the lesser of three evils.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. From what I heard, Vlad-becomes-Dracula was supposed to be the highest point of the story. Afterwards, it's going to be a little downward spiral where the novel is said to have 'Tanked'. Anyone can confirm? What will we have in store after this?
The novel is finished, right?
There's still some interesting stuff left, but yeah, I don't remember anyone getting particularly excited about Mordred eating steak with Sieg or Astolfo remembering the name of his book.
Huh that indeed doesn't sound interesting.
No epic finales like in Zero or UBW?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."There is but I'm not going to mention that kind of thing without spoiler tags.
You know, I had a thought that Sieg had the unfortunate timing that the first person that imparted 'good life knowledge' to him was... Astolfo. I know that Jeanne also did a lot for him, but I think he also got on some of Astolfo's super babyfaced ideals. As in, things like, "I fight for my friends". "Must do good and never turn away from that ideals even if it kills you." (if it turns out to be Siegfried, he can just say "Sumanai" over and over for that)
... I don't know how Sieg would be if the first one that found him and implanted life principles/knowledge on him (though not necessarily heart) are Mordred and Shishigou.
Hope Semiramis gets a good battle before Mordred axes her she is my favorite.
Mileena Madness
Or an evil teen genius.
I will reserve my judgment on Sieg for the second part of the show that I presume we're entering now. They made some adjustments to the story - for better or worse - already, so perhaps something can be made out of him.
