Hell yeah, love Sage's work.
Recently started binging Sage. I like what I've seen thus far
Meh.
His dismissive attitude towards all modern anime turned me off him forever, as well as missing the point of Fist Of The North Star in its entirety.
Watch SymphogearThat's how I feel. I watched a few of his reviews, but I'm not a fan. As much as I like older anime, I prefer modern anime. I feel like Bennett is a little too biased for my tastes. I also feel he comes off as kind of pretentious.

A review of Golgo 13: Queen Bee
, Completely agree there, he really needs better taste in shows. He is basically stuck in the 90s and anything not is absolute trash.

I like him, I don't care all that much about anime but I still find his reviews interesting and funny.
I like some of his reviews, but I think he should be more open-minded when it comes to anime. There are plenty of good anime after 2000.
The only videos I've seen of him so far are some of his Masterpiece Fanfic Theatre videos (I still think his My Immortal is the best dramatic reading of that) and his 20 best/worst Hot 100 #1 singles (I agree with a lot of his picks, surprisingly — even when he said "Everything Is Beautiful" was one of the worst).
Wow, Golgo 13: Queen Bee has cheaper animation than I remember.
Oh boy, Twilight of the Dark Master. I remember that one. Some gorgeous animation and shots, but a terrible and nihilistic ending.
I'm not surprised that it doesn't have a page on here. XD
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyThe vast majority of videos of his I've seen I hated. None of his videos covering music are good (he doesn't seem to understand how music criticism works), and his End of Evangelion review is ABYSMAL. He doesn't even TRY to look at it on its level. He's nothing but dismissive of it and even doesn't continue the review after getting halfway through the movie, instead going off into some self-indulgent bit where he talks about how he played Little League as a kid or some shit like that that probably WOULD HAVE felt poignant if he seemed like he bothered to try to understand the movie.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. That was a joke. It was supposed to be a parody of self-indulgent angsty monologues and wasn't actually meant to be taken seriously.
Probably could've been executed a little better, though.
I'm rather fond of his work, tbh. I think he's a pretty funny guy, even if I don't agree with all of his assessments.
but HOW?A parody of self-indulgent angsty monologues probably doesn't work all that well if it becomes self-indulgent and angsty itself.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Like, I'm pretty sure the entire thing was an act.
but HOW?Very annoying and insufferable acting, then.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Meh it's evangelion, so it's not like it was something worthwhile to begin with.
It has the kind of shallow but profound sounding philosophic tone that impressionable and pretentious teenagers would eat up like candy. This also applies to Haruhi.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. It depends on ones experience in life:
Watch SymphogearYes, like depending on one's life experience, series like Twilight and Sword Art Online can be absolute masterpieces.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I pity whoever's life experience that is.
Wow, way to be a dick about it, guys.
Watch SymphogearI feel that Bennett the Sage doesn't give Evangelion a fair shake and is too biased of a reviewer. Digibro and Super Eyepatch Wolf seem better reviewers to me due to the lack of skits and a better air of professionalism along with focusing more on stuff that is objectively wrong with a piece of work.
"Love, love will tear us apart, again."I didn't actually disagree with what you said, but whatever you say.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Eh. I like Sage. He's very opinionated, and adheres to that, but so am I and I can understand why he digs things I don't or decides to rail on something I do like.
I love Evangelion, A lot. However, a great deal of it is, by the creators' admission, very shallow. It has emotional depths, but its symbolism matching anything worth meaning is more coincidence than practice.
I can't be the only one on here who wants to discuss Bennett The Sage videos, mainly his Anime Abandon series. ITT, you can discuss his videos and reviews.
His most recent AA review was for Kite, the live action adaptation of the anime of the same name. Chris Stuckmann guest stars.
