Cassette Psychics - Need a Proper Name

So I've been working on a world and story set in the 1980s, this world is largely similar to ours in that time. It's the 80s, colourful fashion is in, odd coats, synth and pop is up, cassette players exist, and Regan is the president of the US. Just a bit more advanced in terms of some technologies such as LC Ds, communication, and automobiles. Making some cars that were Awesome, but Impractical in reality far more useful as actual cars.

The really big difference however comes from the fact that psychics exist in this world and are in fact responsible for a lot of the more advanced technologies exist. They aren't widely seen and are actually very few in number, instead using their powers to understand the world and apply that where needed. Though this isn't totally the truth, some psychics are actively being targeted by a group of "enlightened" individuals who are pretty much superhuman.

The story itself deals with a case of Evil vs. Evil in a sense, one assassin who ends up getting caught in this conspiracy and being forced to deal with it.

But I want to hear ideas and questions, I work better when my ideas are being questioned.

Ever watch Regular Show? That's the first thing that came to mind here...

Not intentional, especially as Regular Show is still set during the modern age.

But what should I change to make sure it is properly unique in it's identity.

Theme some character's power after the 80s

How exactly would that work?

Would one psychic shoot neon lasers?

If this is a comedy anyone that shoots some sort of beam shoots in neon

Less of a comedy, more of a straightforward story of evil vs evil.
