The Fast Eddie fiat that never was

Well, time to clean up a very strange mess.

The YKTTW for No Phones Tonight had Eddie suggest that the original name was too conversational, and suggest the alternative of No Phones Agreement. The YKTTW's sponsor, a troper named ~leaskie, ignored this and launched the trope anyway under the original name, leading to a call for it to be cutlisted. I'm not sure if it was listed and declined, or was never put on the list in the first place - the way the Cut List archives are handled makes it near impossible to find things from several years ago.

Later, someone made a TRS thread for the page, only for Eddie himself (likely as a result of the YKTTW issues) to just lock the thread and tell them to send the trope to be cut. Once again, I don't know if it even made the Cut List - even though the person who made the TRS thread was in the YKTTW discussion.

But as for why I didn't take this to TRS (aside from the backlog)...I found out about all of this because Administrivia.No New Stock Phrases uses No Phones Tonight as an example of what not to do, despite it apparently having stood for over three years. It even cites it as an Eddie decision, which doesn't exactly work when Eddie's "fiat" was never enforced. (I will note that it was not a member of the staff who did that edit, but another troper, one ~Arivne.)

Between the different tropers apparently ignoring Eddie or elevating his decision in terms of site policy, I'm at a loss for how to handle this case, so here we are. What should we do?

Add it to TRS under "Ambiguous Name" if you think that's the case, otherwise leave it be? I'm not sure if Fast Eddie's opinions from several years ago are still valid.

There is no point in slavishly following Eddie's mandates years later; we can respect his [vast] contribution to the site without treating everything he said as holy writ.

That said, the rule about No New Stock Phrases is a good one, and should be followed. I would be fine with either reopening the TRS for that trope or just cutting it and going back to TLP. For a trope launched in 2014, it is most definitely not thriving, so a cut would not cause much anguish.

Talk about a delayed response.

I don't have a horse in it either way, but the main reason I brought it up was that the No New Stock Phrases page lists the cut/removal as having gone through, but clearly it didn't. So at the minimum that part needs to be removed from that page while we work out what to do. (I just didn't want to unilaterally change an Administrivia page, for obvious reasons.)
