Suggestion: Nightmare Fuel.Super Mario Bros

Out of context, this current page image is indistinguishable from a trap that routinely opens and closes according to a constant pattern like the other traps in this series. It's an okay image, but I think we can find examples that work better out of context.

How about the demonic-looking version of Bowser from Mario Kart 8?

You know, when I first saw this thread in the list, before even opening it that image was exactly what I was thinking. Unfortunately, that particular version looks really grainy.

1st and 4th are the same thing.

I'd say the 5th is the best of the bunch, but the 1st/4th isn't too far behind.

I think it loses something without the road. There's no context to it, just a fiery rock Bowser.

Agreed, I'd prefer to have the road and a racer there unless it doesn't look good at wiki size.

Hmmm... Super Mario Bros 3. doesn't have its own nightmare fuel page... so perhaps this would work better◊.

Re-clocked. I'm starting to think that these Bowser options would be better suited for NightmareFuel.Mario Kart 8...as for the fiery screen from SMB 3, I don't find it remotely scary so that rules it out as a good suggestion for me.

I'm surprised there would even be a subpage for a particular installment of Mario Kart. I'd have thought even having a subpage for Mario Kart as a whole would be pushing it.

Why put it on said subpage if it's also fitting to the main Mario Nightmare Fuel page?

Also are we going by other game series such as Paper Mario and such? I mean then we can use something like the River Twygz Bed or the Shadow Queen.

Since he's one of the earlier sources of Nightmare Fuel in the series, I figure an image of Phanto◊ is worth mentioning.

@Willbyr I don't know. Dark Land is rather foreboding with all of those skulls and dark atmosphere. It was also a personal nightmare fuel for me since that's when AVGN created a dark conspiracy theory that Super Mario Bros 3 made by the Devil in Hell.

When one thinks about Bowser's Kingdom, you would expect bright red and orange lava with obsidian volcanic landscapes. And cartoonish skeletons of dinosaurs. But Dark Land in Super Mario Bros 3 showed humanoid skulls and hands that drag Mario to his doom. Quite unexpected now these days.
