Are we sure that everything listed in Emotional Torque are really tropes as the article claims? Because Awesome Moments and the like seem to be Audience Reactions IMO, and Audience Reactions are explicitly not tropes even though their existence as phenomena is unquestionable. Hell, Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy is listed on both pages, and it specifically has a "Please don't list this on a work's page as a trope. Examples can go on the work's YMMV tab." banner on it, i.e. it's not a proper trope due to its subjective nature (tropes are supposed to be objective by definition).

I think Emotional Torque is defined as part of the Audience Reactions the Creator is trying to evoke, so it should go through the YMMV process.

Yeah, well, beyond the first line including the phrase "a reaction from the audience" (which isn't even potholed to anything, let alone Audience Reactions), there's not a single reference to audience reactions in the whole page, potholed or otherwise. Really, I've checked the page source.

Mentions of the audience:

  • get a reaction from the audience
  • an apathetic reaction
  • influence and affect us
  • their audience pay attention
  • hang on [the storyteller's] words
  • applaud with a standing ovation
  • you dream of
  • make them feel
  • making you feel
  • your favorite moments
  • we are caught up
  • We should be so caught up
  • we don't think about
  • Tropers trying to catalogue

... I really need to be more creative with my search keywords. So... What do you from here, now? Do we need to put this through TRS, or what?
