It's not the Carmen Sandiego movie I've been hoping for, but I'll take it.
I just realized we've gone full circle with that line.
Still one of the all-time great forum posts on this site.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Cool!! This sounds like it could be fun, and I'm totally digging the poster, she looks awesome!
"That's a to-go order. See! It's already gone!!"What I want to know is; will they be using the Rockapella theme song again? Because that would be awesome.

I hope. The song started getting use in the actual games while the series was still getting new installments, so it's safe to say it's been elevated from "theme from a spinoff" to Bootstrapped Theme of the franchise.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I don't think I've heard that one in the games, after it's airtime. Though, wasn't one of the games made during the 90's based off of that show?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Here's a first look at the series, coming out on January 18th.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Looks nice. Didn't watch much of the original but I could get into it.
The preview photos look stylishly appealing. Definitely leaning towards the Timm Style as I figured. It's being animated by Chromosphere, which animated the Dove (soap) X Steven Universe PS As, Age of Sea, and My Moon.
Kind of curious about the two tag-a-long kids, presumingly ACME agents as well. Considering this is a reboot, I wouldn't be surprised they were Zack and Ivy from "Where on Earth".
Which Carmen design are they using: the brunette game design or the black-haired cartoon one? I've always preferred the latter and wouldn't mind it eclipsing the original.
I hope this fares better than the Magic Schoolbus reboot. That one dropped off people's radars rather quickly. I don't even know if that many kids watch it.
Why did that not take off, anyway? All I remember from it is that Mrs. Frizzle's sister is the teacher now, but that's about it.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.They didn't pander hard enough,or the nostalgia just was'nt there to sustain continued interest
New theme music also a boxFrom what I can tell regarding Rides Again and people's reactions to it, the biggest reasons people didn't bite are because of it just lacking the spark of the original and coming off as just another aggressively mediocre and cheap edutainment show as a result, and the returning characters (sans the original Friz of course) no longer having the unique individual personalities that made them such likable and interesting characters in the original series.
This new Carmen show is looking pretty legit, though. Hopefully it doesn't fall into the same pitfalls Rides Again did.

"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"It's hard to tell. In most of the images her hair looks brown but in a few of them it looks more reddish to me.
Well, it's a Continuity Reboot with Carmen as the protagonist, so at least it's not treading ground we've already seen.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"Rides Again suffered from crappy animation and bland characters. That's a recipe for disaster because what made the original special was its good animation and amusing characters.
As long as Carmen's personality isn't watered down, I don't see this reboot failing.
The game design is reddish at times. Maybe it's a mix of both designs?

Well looking through the preview images again, it seems to be just straight up red for the show with the possible exceptions of the first and seventh images wherein it could go either way between dark brown and red.
I’ve always been interested in seeing how Netflix would work for the educational genre in general. One of the most efficient things about educational shows on tv is that kids could watch it as part of their regular routine, and thus parents could likewise build child rearing routines around them. Go home from school, watch Magic School Bus, do your homework, etc. You get a lesson each day, and come back tomorrow for a new one, much like school itself.
Netflix being built on a more binge mindset changes this up significantly, so I’ve been been looking forward to seeing how educational series carve a niche in the medium.
Unfortunately, Magic School Bus Rides Again seems to rather definitively answer “they don’t.”
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Hey, just because one particular show failed doesn't mean it's a worthless endeavor.
If anything, I'd say their recent experiments with interactive specials (Puss in Boots, Stretch Armstrong, Buddy Thunderstruck, that upcoming Black Mirror episode) would lend well with an educational show. I'm surprised they haven't done so already.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynne_Thigpen
If they have a Chief Of ACME, they should totally make the character a black woman as a shout out to the late great Lynn Thigpen.
Yeah! She wasa awesome.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I'm not sure how I feel about Carmen being the protagonist. A lot of her appeal came from being a stylish thief who always seemed to get away in the end but had such a great flair that you were kinda rooting for her to.
Taking away her Bastard risks losing the Magnificence, and then she's just some generic hero-figure in red clothing.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.
The original Karma Houdini Gentlewoman Thief is coming back, though in the form of a Start of Darkness prequel series voiced by Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin). In this 22-minute animated Edutainment series, spanning 20 episodes, Carman will develop the tips and tricks of her globe-trotting thieving arsenal with "The Player" (Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things and It (2017)).
Of course, viewers will also delve into her origins with the show being helmed by Duane Capizzi (The Batman) with producers C.J. Kettler (The Tick) and Caroline Fraser (Ghostwriter and Houghton's Media Vice Pres.).

I, myself, can't wait along with The Magic School Bus Rides Again. Carmen 2019 seems to be taking the most inspiration from Where On Earth, while giving some it some Timm Style flavor.
