Suggestion: Artificial Limbs

While the current pic is a good example (and was chosen by this thread), I do feel it looks a little too much like just an armoured arm rather than properly artificial. As such I would like to suggest the following from Necromunda

That's not bad, but I think this Iron Hands Space Marine◊ is a bit more on-the-nose.

I should mention that I don't have much of an issue with the current. Something of Edward that might work better is showing Winry working on his arm or about to reattach it.

That Iron Hands one is good but there is also this◊ that gives a good indication of the trope.

As for other FMA examples there are this◊, this◊ and this

I don't see the problem OP sees, so I'm not sure any suggestion is better than the current. 3.2 is kinda nice, though.

^ Seconding. Current is alright. Suggestions in 4 would work too.

Of the new FMA suggestions, I like 3.2 best.

Though I think the screws in the current make it pretty clear that this isn't just armor, 3.2 shows the insides of the limb... le shrug.

I find that one to be no more clear than other suggestions and current, and I just don't like it. It looks kind of awkward, and his expression distracts from it.

It is the only suggestion that includes more than one type of limb.

Ummmm...no, the Space Marine I suggested earlier has an artificial arm and leg. Besides, does it matter?

I think showing multiple kinds of examples can matter a lot. Also, the leg is obviously not armor.

But I agree that the current page image looks cooler.

Not a fan of the OP suggestion. I think it has the opposite effect to the current, in that it makes me think "full-body cyborg", not "one or more limbs that are artificial".

I like 3.3/8 best so far.

Ironically, I wasn't too much of a fan of 3.3/8 when I suggested it (I chose it because it was the best one I could find showing both his arm and leg) but now I have seen it at wiki size I think it is the best of the ones I have suggested.
