Did you have any?
Second-to-last frame is already on Computer Equals Monitor. It would be more difficult to find a replacement for that trope than to find a new image for this one.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.If I had some in mind, I'd have put them up.
The webcomic works, but isn't quite the spirit of the trope. Pretty sure that monitor had an "off" switch. The idea here is generally for devices for which breaking them is the easiest, most obvious, or only possible way to turn them off.
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCWasn't trying to slam you. I apologize if it came across that way. :(
And you're absolutely right that that set of images doesn't really illustrate Percussive shutdown, either. The man in the spacesuit wasn't trying to turn the computer off, he was deliberately trying to destroy it. I'll do some looking around tomorrow after I've slept a bit.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.^ That's more like Ring-Ring-CRUNCH!.
If anyone with artistic skills is feeling creative, I've got something in mind:
Short comic strip:
Frame 1: secret lab with ominous countdown on a big screen and a couple scientists freaking out about it. Scientist says "We need the deactivation code!", other scientist say "Where is it then?!"
Frame 2: Scientists look to front as off-screen voice says "I got your deactivation code right here"
Frame 3: another scientist silhouetted in the doorway holding a fireaxe.
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCBetter yet!
A simple image of a baseball bat with the words "Universal Off Switch" inscribed on it.
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCAnyone with photoshop skills wanna take that on?
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCGuessing that's a no then.
Okidok, I'll outsource it.
"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCI had a go at GIMP. Any thoughts?

"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCIma go ahead and put it on the page. If no one else has other suggestions, I'm happy to close this up.

"Get me a gun, I'm a soldier; but put me in that suit and I'm a superhero." - Gunnery Sgt Roberta "Bobbie" Draper MMCSorry to be critical, but no, I don't think that's a good idea. For one thing, that image has no consensus support, the change was made within a few minutes of the suggestion. For another, I think it doesn't look good, poor design decisions include not following the surface's contour, placement too "low", and choice of serif typeface.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Please, @ginsengaddict, don't just do something like that, especially when you ask for reactions then announce that you're going gto put it up within five minutes.
There's no hurry here, really.
I like the concept. I'm not sure about that image.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.13 is alright.
There hadn't been any action here in almost a week, so I figured this had been forgotten about. I lack any sort of digital image editing skills, which is why I put out the call for other tropers with more skill to have a crack at it. Since nobody took it, I had a go.
Feel free to do it better if you like.

I guess 13 works?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Clock is set.
It's better than nothing, I guess.
(Annoyed grunt)I'm good with it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The clock's up and we've got just enough consensus to go with the bat pic. I'll tag the page; locking up.
New trope. Could do with an image.
Basic description: resorting to breaking something in order to stop it from causing trouble.
Any ideas?
