Current is too close to a Little Bit Beastly and interchangeable with Cat Girl. I'd say we could pull on those grounds.
The caption note is also pretty worthless. It adds nothing and also comes across as a bit patronizing.

I like 13, though I think a snarky joke about the amazing genetic overlap between chimpanzees and stick figures would be more appropriate.
I think the current should go regardless. There's no real indication of this trope as opposed to Little Bit Beastly.

The current image doesn't have anything to do with DNA at all; it may show a character who is almost genetically identical to a human, but there's nothing to indicate that except the caption. The page image should probably be a visual comparison of DNA between humans and a "0.2% different" species, or at least show a character actually talking about their genetic similarities.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.
