Recently, a YKTTW called Villains Are Loaded (per my suggestion. It was Villains Have Disposable Income or something like that beforehand), was made here.

The maker was not aware of this trope but looking at the title I can see why. Offscreen Villain Dark Matter does VERY little to let someone know this is about villains never having trouble funding all their outrageously expensive evil schemes. From the title, one might think it's actually about villains have a stash or reserve of something out of the viewer's sight and knowledge. The current picture even makes this interpretation more likely by being more about where the Robot Master pulls his bombs from rather than how he affords them. (And to my knowledge, I don't think the Robot Masters are concerned with funding stuff anyway). On top of that, the number of wicks is also somewhat unimpressive. Villains having a ludicrously easy time launching expensive evil plans or creating astronomical crafts is a pretty common thing yet the page doesn't even have 200 wicks since its creation in 2007.

I propose changing the name to Villains Are Loaded and getting a better picture. It's shorter for easier wicking, has a combination of alliteration and consonance which makes it nice to say, and , most importantly, it does a FAR better job of communicating what it's really about. If you go to the pad you'll see a couple other tropers share this sentiment and I think it's quite feasible.

Current name isn't terribly illustrative, but Villains Are Loaded is actively confusing as it makes me think it's about villains who are actually evil and rich in a Screw the Rules, I Have Money! way.

The name makes me think of Offscreen Secret Weapon or Asspull Secret Weapons only revealed when it is pointed at the good guys or their allies unlike things like the Death Star which are known before hand.

But I don't see the difference between this and Infinite Supplies aside from hero vs villain... merge em it's easy.

@Septimus Heap. Fair enough. I just felt this had to be brought up.

@Larkman. Really? When I see Loaded it doesn't bring using money to break the rules to mind. Just makes me think of how villains seem to have unnaturally good access to money and resources to make all their schemes possible. It's hella better than Offscreen Villain Dark Matter. , that's for sure. But I am up another name as long as it actually conveys the idea.

@Memers This is also an alternative. Although I think the whole reason Offscreen Villain Dark Matter (man this name is whack...) came to be is because villains never having trouble with getting resources for/funding projects tends to be more Egregious due to villain endeavors tending to be more outlandish then hero ventures. I personally would propose Infinite Supplies becoming a Super-Trope to accomadate this and the related other tropes listed on that page.
