That said, I laughed out loud at the suggestion and whole-heartedly support changing the page image to it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I can go with the OP's suggestion.
(Annoyed grunt)Not sure if suggestion in OP works without knowledge of the Medusa mythology.
Suggesting panel 2 and 4.

"...works without knowledge of the Medusa mythology."
I think objections along this line of thought are giving readers too little credit. It's not like you need to be familiar with the details of a particular story. "Medusa's gaze turns people to stone" is generally well-known, isn't it? And anyway the caption could mention it somehow.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. If we assume the majority is familiar with it, then current is not such a bad pick after all.
Also, Medusa is not an example of this trope; Medusa's severed head is an example of this trope. That isn't nearly as widely-known, but the current caption mentions it.
The effect coming from an object (rather than a creature) is part of what makes it a Brown Note.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I like the OP suggestion, provided it looks good at wiki size.
Possible crop:
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"11 looks good to me.
(Annoyed grunt)11's good. For 5, panel 4 alone is enough, I think. But both are good.

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Clock is set. Any other thoughts on 11?
I liked the one in 11 when it was first suggested. I like the crop in 11 even better, so forom me.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I predict that image will lead to misuse: more examples of creatures with a petrifying gaze, when the article describes effects from inanimate objects, like a book that blinds anyone who reads it.
Medusa's head was a so-so example, Medusa herself is a bad one.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Depending on which translation you use, it can be either Medusa's gaze that causes the petrification, or looking directly at her (Hence why Perseus using his shield as a mirror worked and why her severed head could still do it.) Is much of the misuse people using it for an active power that the holder must use? If not, then I don't see that as a problem.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It's been a few days and no one brought up a caption idea. Calling this done.

This current page picture depends on one's knowledge of Greek Mythology. We also actually have a specific trope for Medusa, people with snake hair based off her.
There were two previous threads, btw. One in which the current was put up to replace a worse previous pic, and one in which the current was kept because no replacement options were offered whatsoever.
Here's a replacement suggestion that both illustrates the trope and adds the funnyz.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
