That her presence tends to mitigate her friends' negative emotions, thus warding off Grimm, rather.

The idea I had was making it so that her semblance works only by invitation, as being able to repress negative emotions rather than encourage positive ones may end up with the same problem from the other direction.

That idea of fixing her Semblance so she only offsets the negative emotions of whoever lets her sounds better.

But repressed emotions are way more interesting plot-wise. Anyways, just tell us whether you want to use a new character and post your new signup or you agree that it'd be better to just fix Sunny's Semblance.

And, of course, they'd have to be aware of her Semblance in order to give consent.

Well, retconning her powers would involve retconning the posts that reacted to them.

I just dunno, I feel pretty trapped.

It seems to me that kicking Sunny off the character roster is less of a hassle, retcon-wise.

I read it, and it was great.

Just make it an inherent ability she can't turn off—but can choose to use (or amplify) by being encouraging/kind.

Anyways, the whole "countering your allies' depression and rage" explanation I suggested still sounds like a better idea.

So, I considered there being a Geist on board so there'd be an interesting challenge to start the story out with, but, in the end, I decided "fuck it; timeskip," 'cause let's face it: the sooner the plot progresses, the better.

New locations:

• Iris: A mountainside city on the west coast of Mistral; a densely-populated "hub town."
• Iris Port: The port where merchants and visitors who reach Mistral via boat first set foot in the city.
• Tokoyo: A city ridden with notoriety (and probably crime) on an island encompassed by Mistral's largest sea.

So, we're not at Mistral proper, i.e. the city state?

No.

The message could just go to show how out-of-touch the Murasakino family is, having someone send a trained carrier pigeon out to sea a few hundred miles away just to give Nanami a message upon returning to Mistral.

Not that far, honestly. Tan earlier anticipated some sort of welcoming party so if you fire a bird at every major port to search for Nanami on the shore and 1 hour outside it and have it either drop off the message or circle back upon failing to find her you spend 3 bird resources but 0 humans.

So, I decided to act like Psyche got acquainted with all the other characters. Post here if you want your character to have the same familiarity (or not).

Or, y'know, you could just act like your characters already know each other's names in the thread.

New spots:

• Downtown Iris: A bunch of metropolitan neighborhoods with towering buildings constructed around the Iris River.
• Iris River: A river that starts on the other side of the mountain Iris was built on, flows around the city to the south, and pours out into the sea at Iris Port.
• Mountain: The mountain Iris was built on.
• The Park: A park situated between uptown and downtown Iris.
• "Trainbow": A system of publicly-funded trains that meet at the center of the city.
• Uptown Iris: A few suburban environs near the Mistral countryside.

Huh, with Azure and Yami making an A and a Y, and neither of them leader material, I'm thinking... Team GRAY, unless something better presents itself, especially with other people's characters.
