Based on what we've been told, nothing good is happening in Cars 3. Or, at the very least, nothing simple."
The URL title made me laugh XD
"To Fee’s credit, he never frames the movie this way. His point of reference is aging sports stars:
Mc Queen is not the young hotshot anymore, the kid he was back then in Cars 1. He’s in the middle of his life, and as an athlete, that’s getting up there. You have your whole life ahead of you, yet your career is starting to show its age. He’s looking in the mirror and realizing, ‘I’m 40 years old,’ and dealing with the fact that the thing that you love more than anything else, you might not be able to do forever.
Now I’m wondering where new technology comes from in the Cars universe. And where new cars are coming from, period. If they’re born, then a new generation of cars shouldn’t so technologically different from Lightening Mc Queen’s generation, but Fee says they specifically designed Jackson to make Mc Queen look slow and old. So maybe the cars are evolving at a fantastic rate? Maybe they’re built, but there are no humans in Cars—oh god cars build their own children and imbue them with life through dark magic."

The Protomen enhanced my life.I don't think we're supposed to think about it too hard. Of course these kinds of plots only make it harder not to
Apparently there is going to be a legit trailer on Monday.
I have A LOT to say about a LOT of things, and NO little minded opinions will hold MY opinion back. This movie looks very interesting. The trailers make it sound like it will be the darkest Pixar film yet.
I predict that Mc Queen's going to come back to racing at the end and win in a magical turn of events. Or maybe, if the tone is accurate, he wins but while taking a victory lap crashes and dies.
I really hope it's not about "Millenials suck" because that would be really dumb.
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinAlso, the new thing to do with the trailer is to cut it to the same Johnny Cash song as Logan.
I don't think the message is "millennials suck", but it's an attack on the elitism that's making others hate them.
Now I can't stop watching Trailers like that. Thanks.
Let's not turn this into a discussion about Millennial Politics.
I'm not getting the "Millennials suck" attitude from the actual statements made from the creative team. Cars 1 had a significant generational gap as part of its primary theme, young upstart obsessed with victory and prestige being taught valuable life lessons from a seasoned veteran. If anything the premise of Cars 3 is following up on that by showing McQueen as facing the very struggles Hudson warned him about. Millennials are certainly recent topics on that idea but misunderstandings between generations is a timeless issue.
X 6 Kinda, if you count extended sneak peak which includes the original sneak peak as half of it as a trailer.
Also, July 16th for release.
What I realized from the trailer is that it's essentially Cars 1 again, yes, but this time Lightning is from the point of Doc. He has a crash at the pinnacle of his career, and then is being shoved aside by other people to make room for younger hot-shots. Basically it's him becoming the mentor so the new guy doesn't repeat his own mistakes, at least that's how it seems to me.
Yeah seems more like Rocky with Hot wheels. What I noticed in the trailer is that you barely ever see their eyes. What's that about?
"We be we baby!"All these sequels and spin-offs, and Pixar still hasn't realised the best idea for a Cars film is a prequel showing how the talking cars came into existence in the first place.
Part of me is hoping that this movie is good or at least decent, this new teaser looks ok. As long as it's better than Cars 2. My only worry is that they may try to make a Cars 4 if this one is really successful money-wise. Everyone's just waiting for the next incredibles movie at this point.

Tis the great art of life to manage well The restless mindNew trailer tomorrow!
Tease today!
Cute.
"We be we baby!"This is way more than what I was expecting. It's dramatic, yet inspiring.
"We be we baby!"Is anyone else getting this vibe that Lightning's crash was actually intentional?
I showed my mom the Cars 3 trailers, and we had a long and fun conversation about how dark the movie is, and we came up with the darkest possible ending for Cars 3: Lightning Mcqueen has a heart attack (or the equivalent) and dies shortly after winning the race.
Announcer: "And they head into the final lap, with Mcqueen having the lead, Storm is on his tail, though!
Lightning: "What the- my left wheel's not turning!"
Lightning pulls something amazing and barely wins.
Lightning's engine bursts into flames and his hood starts smoking.
Lightning: "If my engine's on fire, why is it so cold?"
Lightning dies right there on the racetrack and the movie (and the franchise) ends with his funeral.
New trailer dropped the other day.
Once again, I have a feeling that "the beach ate me" is going to be run into the ground in the movie's TV spots.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."Others have probably pointed this out already, but I'm getting the distinct impression that this movie is Rocky with cars. Which fits, since the other two were also written like sports movies.
Storm doesn't seem like a villain; he's cocky, but still not as bad as Lightning was for the first thre-quarters of the first movie.

I have dire predictions for the comedy if "the beach ate me" is the goddamn funniest joke in the movie to the extent that they gotta repeat it in all the trailers.

I read the junior novelization. It was pretty good, though the major twist was one I saw coming as soon as a character's backstory was revealed.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
I doubt it is the "Millennials suck overall", which would be really stupid, since Pixar is targeting us Millennials to watch their films. It is clearly the boomerang role reversal, which is fine enough.
Even if this film is a stinker, it will probably be one of the better animated films this year, because all of the others look so dismal.
I have A LOT to say about a LOT of things, and NO little minded opinions will hold MY opinion back.
