Establishing that it's a person launching the pin into the fly is needed. I think the last three panels are sufficient on their own.

That's a fair point; most of the examples are specifically about catching the insect bare-handed, but I would think that things like the Buffy example and your suggestions count for it as well.

I think this pic is a bit too elaborate to be really effective. The only thing it requires is grabbing or shooting a fly, which means only the last two panels are actually necessary to show the trope. The entire rest of the page is more in line with Fly Crazy (someone who's being pestered by a noisy fly).
Also pretty sure the example itself isn't listed on the page (yet).
