So we have the true ancestors to the Persacom and the Chobits-class?
Strictly speaking I'd say they are a direct evolution from the Busou Shinki with improved intellect and less dependance on the master-centric safeguard, and they in turn are the next step up from Hoihoi-san, who's a crappy x86 netbook CPU driving a Robocop-level AI programmed to hunt roaches.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I'm confused by all those references.
The build Fighters references are a waste when this is closer to the shinki and to Angelic Layer :V
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Well Build Fighters itself was Angelic Layer + modern Shonen tournament fighter and Gundam so it is not a stretch
But it didn't turn Gundams into cute girls.
Try did... [1]

Yeah well Bandai really messed up Super Fumina's gunpla kit, it is hideous.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Ugh, the panty shots are still too icky and too many. Utter failure of clothes design.
Funnily enough, I'm really only tuning in for the human character, she's just a carefree gal.
Baselard is super adorbs, she was drumming a nice beat with those chopsticks :3
Honestly I didn't even notice the fanservice, apart from low-angle camera posing. Anyways they're bowdlerising Materia and Jinrai so they're no longer wearing thongs in the anime.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Monday's episode: The FA Girls sneakily follow Ao out of the house and to school :V Also the Materia twins turn up.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! It's easy to be sneaky when you are like 10 cm tall.
Ahahaha Baselard was playing hide-and-seek in Ao's school
Also the Materia twins are really perverts. Oh Ao lets them stick around just to get more money out of Kotobukiya
Next week: Indigo Ninja turning up :D

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Man, Base really is a troublemaker. And what's with the fascination with shiny things.
Ao's friend seems to be FA Girls fanatic. why didn't she get some experimental models?
Was that another pincers advertisement?
Okay, what kind of degenerate pervert programmed the Materia sister? They are rather awful.
On that note, why does every FA Girl except Gourai comes with already established personality?
I like how the answer o the battle was the lesson they learned in the first segment. Goes to show that this is not a completely episodic series with the segments being detached.
And now I just feel bad for Stylet.
Only to have some moron ruin all but one Gourai by loading them with ads for the fucking Kotobuki Nippers.
So when are we going to see FA Girls salty that their caretaker is a scrub who uses Tamiya modeling tools?
Update: Enough tropes to split the work page off for the Anime. Also did a lot of small fixes and added links where relevant in other pages.
Seriously though, I recently switched to a set of Kotobuki Godhands because my old set of nippers were wearing out and they are actually really precise and all the fellers complaining about them clearly didn't read the instructions inside the cardboard backing. My only complaint is they still leave a miniscule nub behind, but at least it's easy to shave that off.
@post 26: That plot was an actual thing in the Busou Shinki Moon Angel OVA starring Kaguya the Arnval Mk 2. She was meant to be used as a co-processor alongside a Strarf Mk 2 for a human-sized Shinki-styled combat robot.
As for the technology timeline thing: Clearly Hoihoi-san came first with her crappy netbook-level computing power and primitive Terminator hunt-and-kill AI targeting pesticide-immune roaches. Then come Shinki with their next-gen smartphone brains, BIOS, and SD card support for memory backups and saving photos, then finally FA Girls with improved AI no longer dependent on the Shinki's Master-centric behavioral safeguards and improved plug-and-play support for modular weapons and armor (as well as a streamlined and optimized VR arena setup that can be run off your smartphone). Clearly their relatives are the Angel Dolls that trace the human nervous system (but with less autonomy), while the Chobits persacom robot girls are simply upsized Hoihoi-sans with specs that are only better because they're bigger.
Lab Days Chapter 4 is up :D Oooooooh Baselard's smile when Fujisaki praises her is the best :3 Also lol at Stylet paying Gourai back for repeatedly jamming the charger in her back. Also none of the flying girls can even bear the weight of Gourai's armor
Added some images. Will probably want better-sized images if they are available, possibly even edited collages to depict each FA Girl's toy and their anime/manga appearance, and possibly some of their more notable altcolors. Current Images are using labelnotes to be hidden by means of formatting I copied from the Stella Glow character page.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Bukiko's passion for Frame Arms Girls is something to behold.
Yurilicious sadists, those Materia twins. Poor Stylet. Speaking of Materia...Ao received the Black Materia and the White Materia! That's a whole lotta power in her hands. ...I wonder if Aerith and Sephiroth are employed at that company...
Hm, Instant Knockout must be Gourai's special skill or something.
Again, poor Stylet. Ao was gonna return them, but sweet tune of moneybags is music to her ears.
Gourai is powerful but she has terrible accuracy :V Also she can't move as fast as Stylet or Baselard at full throttle.
Rapier as busty drillhaired ojou FA Girl when

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!THREE DAYS LATER
Episode 4 get! Jinrai is a massive chuuni and they spend all of Ao's money redecorating their new dollhouse
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Another fun episode, I think chuuni ninja doll is my new favourite. The decorating half of the episode was also entertaining and I think Base's room was the best.
One thing this episode did do though was to make me want to watch some real sumo.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellOn second look, seems like the Materia Twins spent all that money on their expensive fabric for their DIY fancy beds. #styletwasright

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I love Jinrai already. She has so much enthusiasm.
They even point out that Gourai always wins.
Nice rooms. Jinrai has a good taste.
Materia sisters really are on thin ice.
Gourai is one of those who resort to P 2 W. Look at how many MSG weapons she's used compared to the others; what's next? Ao getting her a Gigantic Arms kit and Titanfalling it to her during a match?

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I bring more photos!
A box of smartphone futon◊ (S$7 at some Japanese department store in Suntec City)
Coming next on Episode 5 of Frame Arms Girls: Architect turns up, and the girls have an errand race!
Also in Lab Days Chapter 4: Researcher Fujisaki gets a pleasant surprise when Gourai, Stylet, and Baselard are able to cooperate and assemble one of Baze's beam rifles from its runners with the help of some nippers. Also the Materia Twins are stalking them and making plans to play with them <3
Update: Relooking at the DIY FA Girl Hostel scene, Most of the money went into the luxury materials the Materia twins were using. Gourai reused some ancient Shinki MMS 3 storage crates and turned a toolbox on its side to make her locker, Stylet went all out on the cardboard and stationery stockpiles to make her room, Baselard used some leftover plamo paint from the landlord and lots of candy and small bits and bobs, and Jinrai was basically using Re-Ment minatures which don't cost a lot and chopped up some chopsticks and lollipop sticks to make her ladders and stuff.
Innocentia looks extra-inviting like that◊

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Episode 5 is out and about :D
Architect a best :3
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!
Wow, the second episode has PTSD, yuri, bad poetry and "charging" jokes. This show really does whatever it wants.
If this wasn't such a silly show I would start thinking that Frame Girls exist to develop better AI for full sized battle robots. What other reason is there for fully sentient battle units the size of barbie dolls?
