So just watched the 2nd Chain Chronicle movie, and it is getting good. Yuri turned into the Black Knight like expected, and we get to see some of his backstory. And the art and music is as great as ever.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.Schoolgirl strikers is turning out to be a disappointment. For a show that gave the impression of showing what would the future of Yuuki Yuna would look like. To turning out to be a waste of potential. We've been past the halfway point and the villains are merely an afterthought with no signs of them being introduced, especially Lanceloli which i was excited as all hell to see in action since day one. Symphogear S1 took a while to introduce Chris and Fine but it at least kept up the tension with Hibiki and Tsubasa's infighting and the possibility that it would turn lethal. And the awesome music.
Also, will the other teams do anything in the end?
Schoolgirl Strikers really is using it's time like it had way more episodes than it has. This pacing would be fine in a 24 or longer series, but with 12 episodes it's indeed rather slow.
I got a few laughs out of the part where their winning strategy is to play volleyball. In the middle of a fight. What.
225: Sangatsu is at chapter 33-34 right now.
Yeah, that was like... what? The strategy is literally to bounce the ball around? It was just the dumbest thing.
Thanks, so like a third or fourth into the manga.
Doesn't seem like we'll get to new stuff or the ending for it all then. Seems like I'll have to just wait a few years before watching the anime so I have the chance to forget more of the manga.
it's supposed to be twentytwo episodes long and seems to adapt two chapters per episode, so we'll end somewhere before chapter fifty even.
I hope we get a sequel because I want the return of the Kawamoto sisters' father animated so badly.
. . . Acca, anyone?
No?
Marginal #4? Probably not for that either...
Edit: Okay, people are talking about Acca <3. You know what, though, the food is part of the draw. Magie and Rail becoming friends over bread <3.

I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care.I watched the first episode of Masamune-kun's Revenge, dubbed, out of boredom a few days ago. Surprisingly I found myself interested in seeing where the revenge premise went, so I picked up the manga and made it to chapter 39. I've run out of material to read but I heard the manga only had one more chapter to go. Is there more after 39 before the ending?
FINALLY! Odille knight of the mongoose AKA Lanceloli strikes! Shows up, acts like Dan Kuroto on LSD beats the crap out of everyone and then performs a "strategic retreat." Too bad Schoolgirl Strikers real villains aren't as interesting then again this isn't a very interesting show...

I don't know, but I haven't heard anything about the manga ending anytime soon.
If there's one trash show to watch this cour, it's not Schoolgirl Striker. Watch Akiba's Trip instead.
Random Winter 2017 thoughts:
- Seiren is stuck in this limbo of having heroines on par with the best of Amagami's (Hibiki and Ai fans will appreciate Tooru) but come with worse love stories. Also a lot of chaff that add little to the experience, like how they keep mentioning that one senpai is a furry.
- In the latest episode of Rakugo, the big lie is revealed. As RC puts it, the greatest stories are simply well-told lies, and what a story this is.
- MinaKami is enjoying its place as the cozy, CGDCT counterpart of Yowamushi Pedal. The after-credits bicycle trivia segments are darn handy too.
- In 3-gatsu no Lion, Rei has hit very low points in his life, but this sets off his most significant character development yet.
- The MC of elDLIVE has improved, but otherwise the show is mediocre.
- I love ACCA for daring to be different, for being a subdued intrigue-driven bureaucratic thriller, but I just think the writing is not quite there. Not to say that the writing isn't good, per se, but it could be better. But that might just be me hefting my unrealistic expectations.
- Onihei remains somewhat boring and not my thing.
- Pro wrestling amd action shonen have always been a snug fit, and Tiger Mask delivers by having the heel wrestlers duke it out in no-holds-barred survival match. Amazing.

Akiba's Trip is genuinely great tho.
And I like Schoolgirl Strikers for how silly it is.
Rakugo's latest episode made something my new favorite trope, upon reflection.
The big strength with a story being told to you is that the storyteller can fucking lie to you. Being blindsided by the truth can huuuuurt.
Funny thing is that my first impression on the end of that first season was "that's a bit too melodrama-y". The reveal that the whole picture was actually way messier than it first let on justifies the first season's end a lot harder, and just makes Yakumo's bitter self-hatred make even more sense.
Sangatsu No Lion joins Fune wo Amu on the list of "things i need to watch sometime soon". Looking for a spoiler-free answer here- by the looks of it it seems like a sports anime where the main character is either incredibly unsatisfied, a crushing failure in the sport, or both. Does that hold water, because those stories are totally up my alley (favorite Ping Pong character was Akuma, after all).

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018You nailed it. The melodramatic ending of Yakumo's flashback in S1 makes a great deal more sense as a tall tale that the master storyteller fabricated in order to protect Konatsu's feelings. Yakumo sold that story to Yotaro and Konatsu, and in extension the viewers. And we barely questioned it.
EDIT: 3-gatsu no Lion is really more of a coming-of-age story of a shogi prodigy. So he's far from a failure. He is however unsatisfied in the sense that he only did shogi because he was good at it and it earns him money, which grants him independence from a messy family situation. Not to mention all his other issues.

Acca ep. 7 - who else called it? (everyone lol)
Also... there's no Acca page yet. Sad... it would be so much fun to have a page for this show.
I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care.We should probably make one, but I'm a bit rusty on troping.
Yeah, everyone saw the reveal in ACCA coming from a mile away. Now we wait for the king to be revealed to be Nino's boss.

Can somebody explain just what the hell Kemono Friends is supposed to be? Like, I'm legitimately confused as to why it's becoming a massive meme?
Like, who the hell is the target demo of this shit? It seems like a show for like, 4 year olds or some shit but it airs at 2:30 in the morning so it's obviously for weaboos but like, ???????????
I tried to watch the first episode and I was like "god wtf this is ass" so I did what any sensible person would do. I got high and tried to watch it again, and it was pretty funny but it was more laughing at the bad animation and shit.
I just.... do not get it man.
Edit: Also it's based on a game that was shut down before it even aired? Like, why even bother at that point (I mean it worked out for them because the BD/artbook sold out twice apparently but even then??)

Yeah, this one is genuinely confusing me. It's not even like DanMachi where it's just a character design becoming memetic, people are clearly watching the show
From what I gather, it actually has some neat animal trivia, and the Touhou effect.
Ultimate proof that cute, inspired character designs trump shitty animation.
It's also so bloody nice and mellow that watching it is a perfect way to relax, once you get over the awful animation. And there are enough hints about something darker that happened to make the world it inhabits into what it is that you want to keep watching to see more of this.
All of which doesn't make it a good series, just one you can start watching out of curiosity and then find yourself genuinely engaging with it.
Anime often airs at multiple times during the week, so KF may air at a kid-friendly timeslot as well, just as Little Witch Academia might.
What's precedent ever done for us?In reality, LWA does not, and KF only kinda does (there's an 8:30 timeslot, but that's on a tuesday). Both have a streaming option, though
LWA has a Seinen manga adaptation and Shojo one. And shojo shows do run at Otaku O'Clock as well, especially nowadays.
It will probably get a run on a earlier time slot, like K On did with its run on the Japanese Disney Channel, if the Netflix deal isn't exclusive for reruns.
As for how Kemono Friends became a meme, I believe episode 4 did it. I haven't watched it but did see that episode kickstart everything.

Rakugo episode 5: The streak of crazy good episodes continues. Yotaro is such an adorable liddle muffin.
