ships look funny on the horizon, especially when the air causes refraction like that. Could have easily been slowly disappearing from view.

Rainbows are indeed atmospheric phenomenon, yes. The supposed "ship" on the other hand appears a little too substantial to be.

I'm a fan of anomalous phenomena, even though I'm a skeptic of supernatural claims. This one is interesting because its based on a video taken in broad daylight off the coast of northern Michigan. The claimed siting was reported in the mainstream news, includig CNN and the Detroit Free Press.

So what do you think it is? I doubt its a ship, even though it vaguely resembles two masts with a sail on one. The hull would have to be below the horizon, which makes the masts hundreds of feet high. My person theory is that they are a set of waterspouts.
