The last episode was really nice. One scene that touched me was the scene where Yuri and Plisetsky were outside.

Episode 10 makes me so happy. Georgi got a new girl, a lot of Yuri X Victor (not my personal OTP of the show, but I admit I was squealing), Yuri got a friend, all my adorable chicken nuggets appeared. There was a lot of closure for characters this episode before they go off on the competition. Also... that Fanservice.

One thing I really like about this show is that there are no antagonists, just a bunch of people each doing their best for their own reasons.
I don't want to see Yurio crash and burn next episode, but there's been so much emphasis on his endurance that I'm expecting him to push himself too far and, well, learn his body's limits in a very public way.

1. This isn't homo-innuendo, the gay romance is all but explicit before episode 10, and then as explicit as explicit gets at 10.
2. The plot is simple (win the grand prix, meet rivals along the way), it's more of a character-driven story.
3. Yuri on Ice is a cross-cultural smash hit, and I think the creators have expressed interest in making the second season?

It's basically a sports show, in that the base narrative is mostly about winning the big tournament. But yeah, it's a character-focused story.

AHHHHH I'm so happy Victor's staying as Yuri's coach AND returning to figure skating, best possible outcome. The ending with the two of them skating together was EXACTLY what we needed!! Although they still should have kissed again. I'm positive this isn't all they have planned for these characters, and I really, really need a second season/sequel!!!

I just binged watched this anime after I saw the final episode was dubbed.
Excellent. Excellent all around. Great characters, engaging story, gorgeous animation, just a damn good anime. Best thing from Fall 2016 hands down.

I don't have a link right now, but this show is a massive hit by the standards of the time slot and subject matter. They were probably expecting sales of about 3k per volume (two episodes per volume at 70$ each), but the first volume has broken 50k. It is a genuine surprise smash hit in Japan, especially since its that many sales...for a show that is apparently accessible on a streaming service.
