Sooooooo, apparently, the Omni-Kix was inserted improperly into the Omnitrix, which would be the cause of Ben timing out faster in Omni-Kix, he's relying on faulty contact. Inserting it properly enables both Omni-Kix and Omni-Naut.

The movie aired.

Vilgax sent Kevin the plans, the Plumbers are replaced by Incurseans for space justice, Tetrax sold Ben out by telling everyone Ben was Vilgax using the Omnitrix to change shape, Vilgax was Azmuth's student instead of Myaxx, Kevin loses his watch while it was malfunctioning and Vilgax turns into a fusion of himself and Kevin's aliens before boosting himself with the Omni-Kix key, turning into a giant Celestialsapien-resembling creature, Zs'Skayr can take on and off his second skin, Azmuth is feared by all other Null Void residents, Glitch has been physically destroyed and shut down, Kevin escaped with his Antitrix (that gets namedropped), Ben now knows a way to unlock new aliens by pulling the dial up rather than down and putting his finger on an interface to draw a random pattern.

Of all the unexpected things the reboot series has done, turning the Incurseans into the new Plumbers is one of the most bizarre yet awesome ones. It's cool to see Milleous as such an opposite to what he'd been in the previous continuity and I hope this means we get a similar Adaptational Heroism inflicted Attea in the future.)

[up]Adaptational Heroism? I was under the impression they were a case of Tyrant Takes the Helm based on the description... or Dirty Cops.

I mean.... kinda hard buy alien named Inkurseans as good guys, let alone galactic cops...

Still, I'll admit, if that's really the case... points for originality.

They're actually very fair, though somewhat stubborn (they were given reasonable evidence, but Glorff admitted it was painful to admit he was wrong when said evidence was revealed to be a Frame-Up. It was also hard for them to notice 'Vilgax' was acting really out of character.)

I suppose their name now alludes to them invading the bad guys' territories for justice.

Milleous deserves a special mention. Once he learned the truth, he became an immediate ally, apologized to Ben and wished him luck, shedding a tear of pride seeing Ben go hero to save his family. Makes you wonder how Attea is in this continuity.

It's just a name. Earthlings aren't actually made out of dirt, you know.

The movie was pretty good. Not that surprising since when Reboot actually tells the story and doesn't give us "Zombozo hypnotized bunch of sticky toddlers, oh no", it can be pretty cool. And the bonus points we finally went to space and met a bunch of aliens, so that was cool. The action was pretty good althugh I thought the final fight was sorta underwhelming.

The parts with Azmuth were my favorite. I can honestly say that this is one of th best versions of the character because it bring back that cranky, cynical old man feel he had in Original Series. UAF made him more standard Big Good and in Omniverse, he was kind of Jerkass Sue in tetrospect. But now we're back to disillusioned grump who regains some faith in the universe after metting childlish but heroic Ben.

Coherent storytelling was always this show's biggest weakness and it still is now. For example There is never a good explanation of why Phil thought that meteor was big enough to destroy Earth and I must guess that Azmuth was involved. Most of them aren't really a dealbreakers but I must express my exasparation at the explanation behind the Antitrix. Because it's a tradition that any mystery that will be prolonged in Ben 10 will have disappointing reveal and also that Reboot cannot explain nothing correctly about Kevin "I'm not lost in the past, I'll explain later" Levin. Withuth spoilers, let's say Hex made Antitrix. My problem is...that's it. That whole explanation we get. How did Hex did it, why he sent it to Kevin, how he sent it to Kevin, how Kevin build it in garage, what makes it so different... Never explained. But that's fine. I'm sure it will be explained once Kevin get's spin-off.

Given the meteor was just Vilgax's spaceship/pod, I assume it went at a deadly speed before Vilgax overrode its commands and had it teleport or go to someplace. Could also be that Vilgax made his ship tamper with radars so it'd look like a giant meteor to temporarily lure Ben away while he gets the Antitrix.

As for "Hex", Kevin was kind of always a kid genius. He piloted the Megacruiser in OS (or at least managed to drive it well enough to find Vilgax), worked on a car that's probably resistant enough for any and all of Ben's aliens by OV, was the alien tech guy for stuff Gwen didn't manage/know, especially weapons. Even the Omnitrix-hacking machine (granted, that went awry for him). It's just that for once, said tech-savviness has become an actual plot point and origin story, comparable to Billy's genius in OV (and again, it's not perfect and malfunctions easily).

Besides, we know perfectly well that he didn't come up with the plans on his own, Vilgax used tech to send him that "dream" while stuck in the Null Void. The only thing they have yet to explain is where he got the DNA material.

No, I still have questions, like why Kevin was chosen and how did he even contact him. It just feels like the kind of detail that should be filled after holding out the answers for so long.

Uh... no. In OS, there is no indication he piloted the Megacruiser himself; for all we know, all these aliens who were with him when he found Vilgax could have taken care of that for him and he was just leading them into doing this. OS Kevin never shew any sign of being a Kid Genius, and in fact needed Ben's help to learn how to properly use his abilities - which made sense seeing how he lived on the street and wouldn't have opportunities to learn about it, especially without parents. His tech expertise was introduced in the AUF era, and it was justified because he had spent 5 years growing up in the Null Void then an alien underground where he had to learn in order to do alien tech traffic and survive.

With that said, it is possible that he always was a mechanical expert in the Reboot since day 1. Admittedly I find it weird that the super-smart kid would be the same guy who enjoys being The Bully, but eh.

I hated Kai in her first episode. She treated Ben as subhuman. So glad to see her being criticized.

[up] Not exactly. Ben legitimately was subhuman for a good amount of that episode. Kai didn't "treat him as subhuman"; she just expressed disappointment that he didn't remain subhuman, which is admittedly about as effed up. Still better than how she was in Omniverse, though.

[up]I wasn't a fan of her in that episode, but I didn't quite *hate* her back then. And looking back, it can be excused as her being a kid who didn't know better; she at least was gentle when she rejected Ben. But it *was* pretty weird.

Her Omniverse self, on the other hand, can go to hell.

No news about the current Ben 10 series but here's something cool for fans of the original: Tomas Perkins, the artist that designed aliens for the original Ben 10 designed a few new aliens, starting with 3 that were mentioned in "Ken 10" episode but never shown:

Snakepit

Sandbox

and Shellhead.

Other aliens he designed:

Funguy

Terrorsaur

Bungeesponge

Braindrain

Hippopotomass

Gurge

Transmutor

Most of those based on aliens were confirmed through Word of God (if jokingly) or supplementary material (in the case of Braindrain who's from Anur System). Only Gurge and Transmutor are based on background aliens while Funguy and Terrorsaur are brand new. Likely he'll make more.

.... Okay these are pretty cool designs. I have seen a fan-made design for Sandbox that was cooler, but aside from that, they're all pretty good.

To be fair, Sandbox supposed to be a lame alien. Ken wasn't too happy to get him. Also, Perkins wanted to incorporate the box so he won't just be an alien Sandman.

I don't understand why Ken wouldn't like Snakepit or Shellhead as those descriptions make them look decently powerful. Although I remeber Ken saying that Shellhead was basically just a turtle with the power to go into his shell.

Perkins explained that he didn't wanted to do another turtle alien since Terraspin exists. This retcon caused actually quite a noise over Ben 10 forums. I was surprised so many people care so much.
